Migrating to a safe and warm place

The annual migration of snow geese is one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in Canada. Snow geese spend winters in the coastal area. Snow geese travel and forage in loud flocks often numbering in the tens of thousands and follow a cycle that requires them to fly thousands of miles each year. Alexandria, happens to be one of the best places to watch this spectacle.

For seniors, it is also beneficial to migrate to a warm place where people can enjoy a new healthy lifestyle with others to chat with, enjoy activities together, learn new things and live in a secure environment.

With professional registered nurses and personal support workers, experienced health care workers, retirement home residents have someone to check in on them even during the night, if need be. Residents can enjoy their meals without having to worry about doing groceries and maintaining their own houses. Everything is taken care of by the retirement home.

The Ontario government notes that retirement homes and long-term care facilities are regulated by law. The province notes that you should narrow down your list of homes by doing more research. You should call the home or visit its website to find out what the home offers. Does the home provide the type and level of service that you want? When you can move in? Is there a wait list? How long? Can you talk to people who live there now? What do others say about this home? What services are included with your accommodation? What will cost you extra? How much? Visit the homes. You should visit more than one home before making your choice. This way you can check out the facilities and see how staff interact with other residents. To set up an appointment, call the home directly. To apply, send in your application directly to the retirement home Ask the home(s) for an application form.
