Information collection and use

1. Information collection

We collect information from you in several different ways on this Site. One goal in collecting personal information from you is to provide an efficient, meaningful, and customized experience. For example, we can use your personal information to:

We never share or sell any personal information. Information or data sharing is not part of our business operations, excepting information you send to retirement communities (your name and email address), which goes through our website form(s). We are not responsible for what clients do with your information once you submit information to them. If you are a user from the EU, and you have submitted this information to us in the past, we will remove it at your request. (If you would like it removed, send a request to info@ourkidsmedia.com). We will also alert retirement communities (clients) of your request.

2. Email addresses

Several locations of the Site permit you to enter your email address for purposes including but not limited to: to request more information from one of our clients (ie: retirement communities or home care services), to sign up for email newsletters and special offers. Your participation is completely voluntary, so you have a choice whether to participate and disclose information to us. Access to your personal information is restricted. Only employees who need access to your personal information to perform a specific job are granted access to your personal information. All of our email communications allow you to unsubscribe at any time.

3. Online advertising

We may use Google AdWords Remarketing to advertise Comfortlife.ca across the Internet. AdWords remarketing will display relevant ads tailored to you based on what parts of the Site you have viewed by placing a cookie on your machine. This cookie does not in anyway identify you or give anyone access to your computer. The cookie is used to say "This person visited this page, so show them ads relating to that page." 4. Registration for expos and events

5. Information submited to retirement communities or home care services when you request information

On retirement communities' or home care services' profile pages, users who are interested in requesting more information about a retirement community or home care service are asked to submit contact information and some very basic personal information. This is intended only to provide generalized, relevant information for our clients, and is provided by users with their consent. If you submit information, you can have it removed by submitting a request to Comfort Life at info@comfortlife.ca.

6. Information Use and Disclosure

(a) Internal Use. We use your personal information to provide you with customer service. We may internally use your personal information to improve the Sites' content and layout, to improve outreach and for our own marketing efforts (including marketing our services and resources to you), and to determine general marketplace information about visitors to the Site.

(b) Communications with You: We will use your personal information to communicate with you about the Site. We may send you a service-related announcement on the rare occasions when it is necessary. Also, you may submit your email address for reasons such as to request more information from one of our clients (ie: retirement communities or home care services), to sign up for email newsletters and special offers. (c) External Use. We want to provide you with excellent service and to offer you a great selection. We do not sell, rent, trade, license or otherwise disclose your specific personal information.

All data is stored securely on our servers, using appropriate measures to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of data used by our system.

When Comfort Life sends you emails, we may use tracking, cookies or a web beacon or these may be part of third party software we employ in bulk emailing. These only allow us to determine the number of people who open our emails and where traffic moves within our site. When you click on a link in an email, we may record this single response.

All of these identifiers collect very limited information that helps us with our marketing initiatives and is likely to include no more than the time and date of a page being viewed and the name and location (url) of the page on which the Web Beacon resides.

If you are concerned about this, you can disable identifiers by disabling HTML images or refusing HTML (use Text only) emails via your email software.

While we use industry-standard precautions to safeguard your personal information, we cannot guarantee complete security. 100% complete security does not presently exist anywhere online or offline. If you have submitted data that is controlled by Comfort Life and Our Kids Media, be assured that we take reasonable measures to comply with GDPR stipulations concerning the reporting of data breaches, especially those concerning submitted personal information.

Opt out/corrections

Upon your request, we will (a) correct or update your personal information and/or (b) stop sending emails to your email address. If you have submitted personal information to comfortlife.ca you can request that we delete it. Offline collection, use & disclosure of information

As you might expect from us, the majority of information that we collect is obtained through the Site, and this Privacy Policy applies only to that online collection of personal information. We also may collect information offline, where we also try to treat offline collection, uses, and disclosures consistently with our relevant online practices.
