Winchester Glen retirement community is the absolute best place to be. We toured many places for our mother and this place won hands down. The staff are absolutely amazing and treat the residents fantastic. It's a very happy place where everyone has a smile and is happy to be alive. There is always something going on for the residents to be involved in and everyone takes part. My mom is absolutely loving it and finally enjoying life. You can't be lonely anymore with all the positive vibes surrounding you. Great support, great food, great people, and a beautiful clean facility.
New facility, great staff, very helpfull. Rooms are spacious and bright.
Winchester Glen Retirement Community in north Oshawa provided very helpful assistance when we had an urgent need for relocation to an assisted living facility. Emily worked very hard and quickly facilitated our loved one's move into the residence. The very attentive and capable Wellness staff provided much-needed assistance and allowed the transitional healing and health process to start once they were moved in. Winchester Glen's greatest asset is their kind, caring, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. This includes the front desk (concierge), administrative staff, Wellness (nurse and PSWs), custodial services, dining room, and maintenance staff. They provide a healthy environment for residents to thrive and not just survive by ensuring there is an enjoyable and lively atmosphere, supported by numerous activities. We toured the rest and chose the best, Winchester Glen Retirement Community!
My mother-in-law has been a resident for one and a half months and we have not seen her happier. Her suite is the perfect size for her and very comfortable. This is a beautiful new building with top-notch amenities with daily activities for the physical and mental well-being of each and every resident. Sara (sales manager ) made everything with the transition from house to new home so smooth and easy. All the staff ( Jennifer, Sara, Amy, Emily, Pat, and Devon to name a few ) go above and beyond what anyone would expect. They treat my mother-in-law like a family member. Roger and Trevor along with the dining room staff cater to each and every resident as though they were serving their own family. If you are looking for a retirement community for a loved one or yourself, we would highly recommend Winchester Glen. You would not go wrong having your family member move in there.
I moved my 96 year old father and 90 year old mother here from Kingston last March and it was the best thing we could have done. The building is laid out beautifully. Both mom and dad are happy here. The staff are like friends to them. Having nursing staff here makes them feel safe and secure. The food is terrific and the activities here help keep them happy. I highly recommend Winchester Glen.
Visiting a parent in a retirement home when you live out of province was made so, so easy by the warm hospitality of the Winchester Team. I stayed in a great guest suite so was just a short walk down the hall to see my Dad. The new building feels like a resort, but more importantly, it's good to know your parent is in the right place.
I researched and visited several places for my brother and the minute that Emily had finished our tour I wanted to sign him up. When we took him for his tour he immediately felt welcome. I can’t say enough about the staff, they are all so caring and friendly. When my brother needed medical assistance the staff was right there for him. Emily was so helpful answering all of our questions at every step along the way. Sara is amazing, she has made sure that my brother has been involved in social activities and meeting other residents. I feel good that my brother can live independently and has a great support system.
I was having some health issues [and] my kids wanted me to consider looking at Winchester Glen. I looked [then] went back to look more [and] took the plunge and moved in May. It’s coming up to 5 months and I cannot tell you how it has changed my life for the better. This is a beautiful new home with a wide variety of modern suites, phenomenal staff, great activities and the food is exceptional!
…We have a theatre where we gather to watch sporting events and movies. There is a pub located on the 2nd floor where we enjoy cocktails while listening to live entertainment, common lounge where we play cards, shoot a game of pool, work on a jigsaw puzzle, go to our fitness room, hobby room, outdoor patio or just sit and chat.
... The decision to move was hard… but once it was made, I found everything else quite easy! I settled in quickly and feel very at home here.
… [In terms of cost] it’s comparable to having my home. Here, all utilities are included, phone, cable, internet, and an emergency pendant. There are no maintenance fees, no utility fees, no property taxes - one bill, no stress!
… I am happy with the closeness of everything I would need. ie. Costco, banks, restaurants, grocery stores, pet food, pharmacy and more!
...I have been very fortunate to meet some wonderful new friends that had the same fear and concerns that I had. Everyone is very kind and caring and you feel like they have been your friends and neighbours for years.
For anyone considering Retirement Living, I can honestly say this transition has improved my quality of life and I wish I had moved sooner.
We love Winchester Glen! It's beautiful, spacious, amazing food and the staff are extremely friendly and attentive. Emily was so kind and went out of her way to make sure my dad and I felt comfortable during the tour They offered tons of information to make sure we were making the right decision. My dad now lives here and he really enjoys it. He sings praises about the staff, services and accommodations. It is a relief to us to not worry about his well-being.
I just had my Dad in Winchester Glenn for 10 days respite care while my husband & I went on vacation.
I can’t say enough about the residence and the care he received while we were away. The residence is immaculate and well-organized and my dad said the meals were delicious! There are lots of awesome activities to keep the residents involved.
Winchester Glen came highly recommended to me and I couldn't be happier with my choice to take the advice! From the moment I inquired about residency and care for my mom I was greeted with compassion and understanding during what can be a difficult time and decision in a loved one's life. My mom and I have the pleasure of daily interaction with a staff made up of true ALL-STARS. They make living at WG enjoyable, comfortable, and even fun for everyone. I would highly recommend Winchester Glen for your loved ones.
Nice atmosphere, a small number of residents, and lots of social activity (shout out to Ed Smith) supported by friendly and great staff. The new building is bright and spacious and has great access for pick up at the front door and parking. It is located close to all amenities. I was able to utilize their guest room (such a great idea) it was quiet and comfortable. The services promote a good quality of life, in a safe and secure environment. I am looking forward to my next stay. Thank you all (Sara, Laura, Pat, Troy, Emily) for making me feel welcome and extending your kindness. My mom is very happy with her new lifestyle and the family has peace of mind.
My husband and I recently visited my aunt at Winchester Glen twice. What an incredible place! From the moment you walk in you feel welcome and at ease. A smiling face at the reception desk greets you and is happy to help. The building is tastefully decorated in warm neutrals and stunning artwork. It’s like walking into a luxury hotel.
The room my aunt has is two bedrooms and has a full-length window in the living area looking onto a view that takes in the countryside to the east. It’s bright and beautiful and has everything you need.
Wide hallways, gentle elevators and amazing social spaces. There’s even a movie room and a ‘pub’ area.
We had three delicious meals there. Two in the dining room where you are treated like VIP customers with a lovely server taking your options. It is not ‘hospital’ food! In the breakfast bistro you can have a made-on-the-spot hot breakfast or lighter fare. We were also able to stay overnight in a guest suite. We could have moved in! Just beautiful... The staff is incredible - warm, friendly, helpful and so engaged with the residents.
We visited and researched numerous retirement residences in the GTA. (Price, food, staff, location and amenities). Winchester Glen was just what we (my mom) was hoping/looking for. She has been there close to a year now and is safe and happy. I'm so glad we made the decision to move her into Winchester Glen and so is she.
My grandfather is in this amazing place! People are so friendly & happy to help! Feel so safe in this place! They take care of him! Food is also really good!
Absolutely beautiful, loving community! The planner truly took into consideration the retirement lifestyle needs including safety, all amenities and care of it's residences. So grateful for Winchester Glen Retirement!
My parents have recently moved in and are really enjoying their time in their new home. Sara, ( Sales Manager) has been very help and accommodating and is doing everything she can to help my parents become situated. The full time nurse on site ( Amy) has been great, dealing with any questions comments or concerns they've had and has helped with appointments and such.
I took my mom for a tour last year as soon as restrictions opened and put a deposit down right away. The building is beautiful. Hallways are spacious with ample room for any seniors requiring a walker and lots of amenities including a theatre room, fitness room, library, 2nd floor bar area and patio, hair salon, bistro and many more. Staff are friendly and room prices are competitive based on similar retirement buildings. In addition, the nearby shopping area has all the essential stores required.
My Mom just moved in and loves it. The staff is friendly and helpful. She is looking forward to the activities and dining in the restaurant. She said it feels like home without all the yard work. The price per month is reasonable for all you get. Utilities are included, an emergency pendant and the programs, the pub, bistro.
