Community’s Perspective

How One Kenton Place sees itself

Who are you as a community?

At One Kenton Place we offer innovative, individualized care for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and/or dementia by identifying a person’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual needs. Our compassionate team of specialists and nurses, are committed to celebrating the spirit and uniqueness of each of our residents in an environment anchored by dignity, respect and the ability to thrive. Our focus is on maintaining one’s independence by building upon current cognitive and physical capabilities, while working to strengthen and develop additional skills. We empower our residents to reach their potential through encouraged independence. We ‘see’ the person and recognize that who they are is distinct from the symptoms of their disease.

What do you do differently or uniquely well?

What sets our community apart is our commitment to a person-centered model of care, which truly prioritizes the individual needs and preferences of each resident. Families appreciate that we offer specialized therapeutic programming designed to enhance both physical and emotional well-being, ensuring that each resident can engage in activities that resonate with them.

Our brand new building is not just aesthetically pleasing; it's equipped with state-of-the-art amenities that promote comfort, safety, and social interaction. From inviting common areas to private living spaces, every detail is designed to foster a sense of community and comfort.

Exceptional care is at the heart of what we do.

What supports do you offer residents as they adjust to life there?

As residents adjust to life in our retirement community, we offer a comprehensive range of support and resources to ensure a smooth transition. Our dedicated team includes a Director of Care, Assistant Director of Care, a doctor, nurse practitioner, nurses, and PSWs who work collaboratively to provide personalized attention and address any health-related needs. In addition to our exceptional medical team, our recreation and occupational therapy teams play a vital role in helping residents acclimate. They design engaging activities and programs that encourage socialization and connection, fostering a sense of belonging right from the start. Together, these teams create a holistic support system for our new residents.

How are residents supported if their needs change?

In our community, we prioritize the evolving needs of our residents, ensuring they receive the appropriate level of care as their requirements change. If a resident’s needs increase, our dedicated team works closely with the individual and their family to assess the situation and develop a tailored care plan.
One of the standout features of our community is that residents can remain in their current suites even as their needs change or progress. We offer options for suites specifically designed for those requiring higher care levels, making it easy for residents to transition within our community if they choose. We welcome outside support services if needed.

Reviews of One Kenton Place

What residents and their loved ones say about One Kenton Place in reviews.

Susan Gaston, family member

"Nine months ago we were searching for a residence for my 96-year-old father who was struggling at home alone with dementia. As a family, we decided that despite daily PSW support it was no longer safe for him to continue living on his own. I consider myself blessed that we contacted One Kenton for a tour and a meeting with their administrative staff. We were assured that his physical and mental well-being was their first priority and I can confirm that our experience has been nothing short o..."

Rose Greisman, family member

"Our family member has adjusted well here because of the wonderful care and attention of the staff, the delicious food and daily activities."

Earle Gotfrit, family member

"My Wife and I had the pleasure of working with the staff at One Kenton in support of my Mom's dementia. We can't say enough good things about the staff at the facility. Caring, communicative, and loving are just a few of the adjectives that come to mind. Staff-to-resident ratios are incredible. My Mom's stay at One Kenton was relatively short as "The Man Upstairs" had other plans for her. Even in her passing, the staff never forgot about the family. We truly appreciate all of the support and..."
