Reviews of The Village of Winston Park

Gain exclusive insight into life at The Village of Winston Park. Comfort Life’s exclusive reviews and videos give you insider information from residents and their families.

Our perspective

Winston Park will revise your ideas about senior living homes. Lively, clean, spacious, friendly, caring… there are many more superlatives that could be added. Schlegel houses approximately 2500 seniors across the province of Ontario, working closely with the Research Institute for Aging in Waterloo. They are at the forefront of senior care in Ontario, and their forward thinking shines through at Winston Park.

Winston Park is a vibrant community of seniors that (like other Schlegel Villages) creates an idealized small town under one roof. Walk into Winston Park in the middle of the day, or on a Saturday morning, and you will be struck by the amount of activity and interaction among the "villagers." These people know how to live! Inside the "village" you will find a general store, a restaurant, a gift shop, a library and a gym… all of them with signage and separate entrances. People walk from shop to shop, greet friends by name and chat up the local "shopkeepers."

Suites are clean and modern, hallways are wide and clean. The people are happy and friendly, because the environment engenders community and contentment. In keeping with the village theme, discrete care areas are called neighbourhoods.  Winston Park includes a memory care neighbourhood, as well as a long term care ward. Every day in the village "commons," residents greet each other with smiles.

A very warm and caring place for seniors to live.

Marie-Claude Bouret, senior

I visited the new wing. It's beautifully designed and decorated. Entering it, you really feel like you're walking in a small village. The staff are very professional and friendly. Corridors are wide and rooms are spacious and bright. I wish I could live there when it's my turn.

Bruce Dawson, family member

Truly well-run. I'm a nursing supervisor in another nursing home. I have zero complaints with Winston. I feel my mother is in a very well-run and safe retirement setting. A godsend for my family. P.S. This facility believes in diversity, something my husband and I are extremely impressed by. They walk the walk of equality and pride.

Nick B, senior

Nice home! Its clean and friendly. Staff have a pretty straight forward way to get your rapid test when visiting family.
