Gain exclusive insight into life at Delmanor Wynford. Comfort Life’s reviews give you exclusive insider information.
This place is perfect for mature adults who want a fresh start or a new beginning, (even if you don't realize that's what you want). If you've ever dreamed of living in a luxurious hotel year round, this is the place for you. Stepping into this residence will instantly dispel any notions you may have about seniors' communities. Progressive-minded senior living is exemplified by the fact that it was one of the first GTA retirement homes to follow the green rating system Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
Opened in 2010, Delmanor Wynford incorporates the best of high-rise living a la Tridel. Inside, you'll find spacious lounges and rooms, a movie theatre, a spa and beauty salon, five-star dining with attentive service, a library, a pub, and everything else you need (and more) under a single roof. Outside, there are beautifully landscaped terraces and courtyards, in a gorgeous neighbourhood that mixes greenspace with local shopping, and easy access to transit and major highways.
Across all Delmanor retirement residences, the LivingWell program is very successful at getting seniors re-focused on their personal health. The program uses individualized coaching and goal setting to create a holistic approach to well-being. It targets typical senior health risks like falls, etc., and its popularity means you'll share in this with your fellow residents and friends. Residents come to love Wynford after making the initial adjustment to a new environment.
We've collected reviews and testimonials from around the web that are relevant to you: those from residents and their loved ones.
On my recent visit to Delmanor from the moment I walked in the building the front desk staff was very courteous and friendly. All of the staff members were very kind to my grandmother and I was happy to see she feels at home. I have no concerns about the treatment and I am happy to know such amazing staff exists at Delmanor!
Friendly staff and residents. Clean. Many amenities, excellent food. Fabulous grounds, great activities for everyone. A variety of things to do, something for everyone
Many families struggle with transitioning family members from their residence to a retirement home and my family was no different. Delmanor Wynford did a fantastic job at easing this transition for my family and more importantly, for my grandfather who was making Delmanor Wynford his new home.
Delmanor Wynford offers a wide range of activities every week, including bingo, exercise classes, and day trips around the city. They also have a number of cozy amenities such as a pub with a pool hall, rooftop terrace, a theatre and a chapel. These activities and events made it easy for my grandfather and other residents to develop close friendships with one another.
The dining room service is top notch and they have various menu options for each meal to satisfy any craving. The staff are very friendly and guests are able to visit as frequently as they would like while enjoying a sit down meal!
Sophia at the front desk developed a close bond with my grandfather and our family through her charismatic personality and positive outlook on life. My family is very grateful for everything Sophia did for my grandfather and what she continues to do for my great aunt who is a current resident at Delmanor Wynford.
The current GM Matt Ross is extremely friendly and is always available to address any questions or concerns you may have. Matt works effortlessly to ensure the best experience and transition for your loved one at Delmanor Wynford.
I would highly recommend Delmanor Wynford if you are considering transitioning your loved one to a retirement home.
My Gran moved into DelManor in September of 2019 and we are so thankful to the staff for making her feel so comfortable and important.
When Gran celebrated her 98th birthday in May of 2020, right at the start of the COVID-19 lockdown, the staff allowed us to organize a birthday parade in the parking lot and brought her down to the window so she could see us and know how loved she is.
Keri took pictures of us from inside so we were able share them with Gran afterwards and she could see everyone again in our crazy outfits and hats.
During this whole pandemic the staff have gone above and beyond to make the residents feel secure and every time I speak with Gran she tells me how happy she that she was able to move in before the pandemic hit and how she is in the best place for her because they look after her so well.
I honestly cannot say enough good things about this home and I will be eternally grateful to the caring staff for making sure Gran and our entire family have peace of mind that she is being taken care of to the best of their ability.
My mom has been living at Delmanor for a few years now and loves living there. The staff are very warm, welcoming, supportive and approachable and have been so careful with taking all necessary precautions to maintain the health and safety of residents during this pandemic. In addition, they have set up Zoom calls for our family so we can stay connected with my mom and I know they are doing their best to keep the residents connected through hallway gatherings. Thank you for your kind and caring approach during this very difficult and challenging time.
I moved into Delmanor Wynford during the pandemic and I was very much impressed with the décor of the premises; what you might label as Upper Don Mills. From my spacious suite to the elegant dining room, I see spectacular appointments every day. The staff are caring and respond to your needs with alacrity. The food is substantial and nutritious, served by a uniformed waiting staff that move like their pants are on fire. Life here due to the restrictions of the virus has changed the dynamics of the community but management tries as best they can to make life better. Long-time residents tell me with glowing hearts how grand life was here pre-covid. Safety and security are guaranteed along with extreme health and nursing care. At my age I’m waiting to go to a “Better Place,” but as long as I’m breathing there is no better place.
My parents moved [here] in the fall 2019. I am so impressed with the facilities and the staff. On every level the wellbeing of the tenants is paramount. Throughout [the] pandemic the teamwork and dedication of the staff is so impressive. They are working tirelessly to protect and reassure, and it is so appreciated. My parents are well fed, well taken care of and appreciate the camaraderie and positive attitudes that constantly surround them.
My mother [moved in recently]. The entire experience from before the move, during the day of the move and her transition into retirement living by the Delmanor Wynford team has been outstanding, with each team member demonstrating genuine professionalism. The move day was super smooth and we were delighted to have had the first dinner with her in her new suite with my siblings on move day. She has raved about the meals every time we have spoken, and for someone who was a good cook herself and relatively picky, this is a testament to the Delmanor menu and chefs!
Hats off to all staff, who through a very trying 10 months with ever-changing circumstances, have responded to keep us healthy and safe. With abbreviated programs, they have managed to keep us fit, entertained, and mentally stimulated.
Definitely 5 stars! Staff has been absolutely stellar throughout this whole COVID-19 pandemic and have really tried very hard to make things work. Conflict resolution has also been handled with great empathy and respect.
Wonderful community to live in for me and my loved one.
The staff is exceptional and gracious, respectful and so willing to please.
[So many great people] live here. It's a very interesting group.
