In November 2023, we had the pleasure of visiting Orangeville’s most sort out retirement facilities…Chartwell Montgomery Village Retirement Residence.
I contacted their office about a week prior to the site visit, to schedule a private tour of the facility. We’ve heard that Chartwell Montgomery Village was Orangeville's state of the art retirement residence, and wanted to see if it would be a good fit for my mum’s current needs.
My husband and I have had the pleasure of meeting with Carolanne Manicone, the facility’s living consultant, who gave us an extensive tour of the residence. The suites are beautiful. The rooms are spacious, well designed, bright, and the modern appliances and amenities compliments the units. Carolanne was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our questions and address any concerns, both during and after our visit.
The property at Chartwell Montgomery is very well maintained, both inside and outdoors. The modern, stylish and elegant décor, creates and provides an ambience that is warm, cozy and homely for both residents and visitors.
Throughout the tour, we observed many residents engaged in a variety of activities that were fun and exciting. Both the staff and residents were friendly, some even taking the time to acknowledge and welcome us as we passed by.
We were surprised, but pleasantly so, to learn that Chartwell Montgomery Village, unlike many other retirement living, is pet friendly. Another bonus was the location of the facility, which is located approximately 15mins from our residence.
Although my mum is not yet a resident at Montgomery Village, Carolanne has generously extended an invitation for my mum and I to attend and participate in the activities at the facility, thereby providing the opportunity for her to meet, mingle and become more acquainted with the residents and staff. I believe that this thoughtful approach allows the opportunity for a smooth transition, as we hope that my mum will eventually moves from visitor status to tenant.
Robyn, the facility’s Lifestyles Program’s Manager is wonderful with the residents and they seem very excited and eagered to participate in the activities. It was a pleasure meeting with Eileen, Gwen and Mia and thanks for the warm hospitality you have shown us.
We anticipate that there would be many more visits at Chartwell Montgomery Village, since we are convinced that this facility is best suited to meet the current needs of my mum. This would allow her to live independently and worry free, while she remains engaged in healthy community living.

The staff in the dining room are amazing! They make mealtime a real pleasure with their humour and service. They go out of their way to look after the residents. Hats off to Corry, Sue, Sara, Sara and all the others!! You are all great!!!

My husband & I moved to Chartwell Montgomery 5 months ago after living in our home for 67 years. We have really enjoyed our time here so far. The building and grounds are very beautiful and the units are very spacious. The management are always pleasant and very helpful from the minute you come through the front doors. A special shout out to the wonderful wait staff, (Corey, Sara, Sara, Sue, Jonalyn. Allyson) and all the many students who always have a smile on their face and go out of their way to make every dining experience a fun time... and of course Maxine who keeps everything running smoothly.
We both feel we made the right move.

Can't say enough about Chartwell Montgomery Village ! So impressed with the quality of accommodation, the staff and management ! Had my Mom do a trial respite stay in November 2019 and she became a permanent resident shortly thereafter. In June of this year, residents celebrated her 95th Birthday in the Dining Room and staff , as always, went the extra mile !
A few weeks ago, her brother, 92, moved from another local retirement residence to the new building at Chartwell. Gorgeous 1 bedroom apartment with all the amenities and the opportunity to visit with his sister on a daily basis! Management and staff made sure that the adjustment went smoothly and he couldn't be happier !

Yesterday we celebrated my mother’s 100th birthday at Chartwell Montgomery Village. We gathered in the private dining room in building B. The luncheon catered by the dining staff was enjoyed by all (ranging in age from 9 to 100). The experience was made even more pleasurable because of our server, Sam. My mother said this is a “great place to turn 100”! It was evident that the Food Service Manager (Angelo) and his team know how to make a celebration special!

As a resident of the lovely, new, independent-apartment section of Chartwell’s Montgomery Village in Orangeville, I am pleased to report that I am very comfortable and relaxed in my spacious, well-designed, one-bedroom apartment, within attractive surroundings that offer a variety of activities, very pleasant staff and resident company, as well as excellent dinners in the peaceful and inviting dining room where we can share table space and compare notes on our daily activities. If you are ready for the comfort and security of a senior’s apartment, this is the place to be!

The accommodations here are great. The size and layouts of the suites are good, they suit the purpose well. The staff are very helpful and pleasant! The other residents are pleasant and cheerful as well. The staff have done an extremely good job during the pandemic and have kept us safe.

I'm happy at Montgomery Village, at first it was hard to adjust at first because I was coming from my house that I lived in for 26 years. Coming in with a positive attitude was key in helping to settle in. I'm a very social person and having activities and people to talk to everyday is important to me. I'm lucky to have so many positive people around me to enjoy my time during the pandemic. The staff and servers are great! The food is great here and there is always a good choices. All the staff remember your name and are always available to talk too. They are always accommodating to anything you need.

Montgomery Village is a great place to live! I wasn't happy to move in here at first but then when I started to live here I found out that I loved it. The staff here are unbelieve and they do a great job looking after everyone. I love the different range of activities, and enjoy the bar area at dinner time. I also enjoy all the theme days and entertainers that come in to play music.
The staff has done an unbelieve job during the pandemic by keeping us entertained and safe.

I have been living at Montgomery Village for two and a half years. I have made many friends here! The staff have been very helpful, especially during the pandemic. They have been very cheerful and caring for us. I love living here because I don’t have to do dishes! I also love all the exercises classes because they keep me very fit and active. It’s great to be able to walk in the conservation area right behind the building. The building is situated in a very nice environment. I am very happy that I moved here.

My Mom lived at Montgomery Village for almost 6 yrs and she loved every day she spent there. She made some wonderful friends and the entire staff are fantastic! The professional and friendly Front Desk, the caring and compassionate Wellness Team, the maintenance staff, the activity program coordinators, the dining room servers and the administration staff are all the very best. They handled the COVID 19 protocol extremely well and continue to do so. I can't say enough about how pleased my family has been with this retirement residence and we will miss them so much.

Just wanted to send you a heartfelt message thanking you and your wonderful staff for keeping my father Dennis Lamberton and all the other residents safe during this pandemic. Many other long term care and retirement homes in this province have endured much hardship and countless deaths due to this virus and incompetence. From the start your facility took this virus seriously and took strong measures to keep infection out of the building. My father was one of the first people to move in along with his lovable standard poodle. The two of them have been very happy and it’s been a big relief for my sister and I to see that your staff has taken such great care of the him and all the residents even before the pandemic.
