The Village Langley is a state-of-the-art memory care community, an ideal setting for people dealing with the adverse effects of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. They can live here safely, free to come and go wherever they like within The Village. Family members' worries about tendencies to elopement evaporate. But there's so much more. Residents live a lifestyle that promotes more activity and requires less medication. The environment itself is a holistic treatment.
The Waterford is a special place that delivers all the best of contemporary retirement living. Meals are excellent, activities fun and varied. To round it all off, the people that work here and live here are the best. What people find after moving into this community is that they have space to live anew and explore the freedom that comes with retirement living. That freedom (from tiresome daily chores like dishes, housework, and home maintenance) opens up liberty to do more with your day, to make new friends and find out how great community living in a group with your peers can be.
The staff and services are AMAZING, especially given the lockdown due to the Pandemic, the residents are truly lucky to make this place their home. So glad we found them for my Mom, I honestly can not think of a better place for her through this time.
My aunt lives there. She has the best care and is super happy.
My aunt was lucky to become one of the first residents here, and I have visited often. This is a truly groundbreaking facility and the staff are as patient and friendly as you'd hope for. I have noted the postings by others who are upset by the cost of living at The Village; asking "who can afford to live here?" and suggesting it is only for the elite. While I could not afford to live here, that is due to my particular circumstances and life choices. My aunt can afford to live here for many years to come, but I want to share her story and show others that living like this is not reserved just for the wealthy. Auntie M. and her family were sent to live in a BC internment camp during the war, when she was just a young girl. She left, barely into her teens; left her family and left school to return to the Lower Mainland to toil as a housekeeper for a wealthy family. She made this sacrifice to send money back to her parents and siblings. Later, after the war ended and everyone moved back to the Lower Mainland, Auntie M. found work in the Steveston cannery. She never completed her schooling; having to still help her parents and siblings and with little education, working in the cannery was what she could do. But, she was wise with her money, saved up, and bought a house. This house and her very dedicated savings are what allows her to enjoy life in the wonderful The Village now and for years to come. I am so happy that this amazing woman, who did hard physical work her whole life, sacrificed her youth and her education, is thriving at The Village due to her own self taught money management efforts. So to those who are affronted and snidely suggest that a community like The Village is an elitist utopian ideal, I suggest otherwise. Yes, it is costly but it is worth every penny for the high quality of care, the beautiful atmosphere and the priceless dignity with which residents are permitted to live. I couldn't recommend it enough!
We couldn't be more happy with the level of specialized dementia care and understanding provided by all the staff at the Village.
The staff is incredible! All of them! The servers, the recreation (staff), the management, they all all work so well with one another. This became apparent [in 2020] when they all had to deliver all the meals to the residents' suites. The attitude was amazon, they would come singing. This is the kind of staff we have. I call it the wonderful world of the Waterford.
My mother has been a resident at the Waterford in Tsawwassen for over 7 years and we have been very happy with her care. Whenever we visit, we enjoy the food in the dining room. The staff has been friendly and helpful. We will be coming in May, hopefully to eat chocolate!
My mother was recently in the care centre at the Waterford and I have nothing but admiration and gratitude for the staff who cared for her. She felt safe and had real affection for the nurses and aids involved in her care. The centre itself is comfortable and the food exceptional.
A wonderful space for senior residents to live as independently as they wish [with] a care option available in house if/when they decline physically or mentally. [Many] activities to choose from, as well as a private bus that they share with their sister site down the street. [It's an] extremely convenient location [when you want] to run errands and things, without needing a vehicle.
The Village is Canada’s first village-style residence specializing in supporting those with dementia & memory conditions. Our cottage-style living is surrounded by five acres of secured grounds with walking paths, gardens, farm animals & a water rock garden. You’ll be able to explore your surroundings safely & securely. Our food is exceptional, and our parties are decadent. Passionate recreation staff offer programs that encourage vibrant and active living. We also feature a licensed long-term Care Centre.

The Village Langley is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood in Langley's Brookswood community. We are a secure community with a controlled single point of access.
Tsawwassen means “Facing the Ocean” in Coast Salish, and is nestled on a peninsula surrounded by the Strait of Georgia and the Salish Sea. The Waterford is uniquely situated in the heart of Tsawwassen, just steps from the Town Centre Mall and enjoys easy access to all the wonderful amenities of our sea-side town.
Chest x-ray, Medical form completed by family doctor, Personal Interview
Personal and medical information is collected and assessed according to each person's unique situation. We complete several individualized assessments including the Mini Mental Status Exam as well as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment. At this time, we are completing testing for COVID-19 and the coronavirus for all new Villagers as well as new staff to ensure the safety, health and wellness of our community.
Our General Manager meets with every prospective Independent Living resident. The Waterford Care Centre has an more intensive move in process that is guided by the Director of Care.
