This still-very-new community brings Tapestry’s brand of world class senior care to Victoria in a beautiful new setting, the harbourfront area just blocks away from verdant Beacon Hill Park. While the location itself is cause to consider a move, the life here promises to be fulfilling in a much deeper sense. Not only are you close to natural beauty along with bountiful urban convenience, you’ll also find great support by staff.
Berwick is the name behind some of the most beautiful senior living buildings in British Columbia. Royal Oak, just outside of Victoria, is one more example of their finesse in turning senior living into a “Wow! experience.” From the stone construction exterior, to the multiplicity of dining options, to palatial suites, everything about this community speaks to Berwick’s emphasis on creating wonderful living experiences for our elders.
Tapestry is truly a 65+ community that I haven't seen before. There are regular fun events and activities organized by friendly staff, an excellent restaurant and a bright inviting common area. Honestly, I really can't get over how great their food was, the halibut burger and salmon nicoise salad were amazing and reasonably priced. If the restaurant were available to the public it would be one of the best in Victoria.
When the move happened they were a huge help. Quite a few people here have gone through [being widowed], and everybody freely talks about that and that helps make it really simple to transition. It’s probably one of the best moves I’ve ever made…All the people are great. Move in and you’ll make lots of friends.
We have been looking for a place for my Mother, who in the past has been very active and social, however since my father passed, she has been struggling to find her new self. I found out about Tapestry through a friend and I decided to book a tour. Prior to the tour my Mother had concerns about being in a retirement community because in her day, all the residents did was sit around and play cards. I am thrilled to say, that is not the case at Tapestry! When we entered the lobby, we were very impressed with the décor and the greeting we received. The sales manager showed us the suites and also gave us the full run down on activities and let us know that there is a never ending calendar of events. We were delighted to find seniors in her age group, that are looking to be active, socialize and get the best out of life.
My mom (Joan Power) ... is now currently in the Brio at Royal Oak Berwick. It's a very beautiful facility and incredible staff and care... Thank you to all the wonderful staff, aids and nurses at all three Berwick's she has been in. You all go above and beyond and you are very much appreciated
My Mother in law is here. Great place, staff and care!
Outstanding facilities, gardens, activities, menu, staff and management. Close to shopping malls, Commonwealth Place, public library, forest trails, bus south to downtown, or north to Ferry or Sydney.
Mom moved into her suite at Berwick Royal Oak in June 2021 and she loves living there. She had wanted to move for several years and finally did. She keeps telling me how content she is. The staff are outstanding she says, and I completely agree; the staff go above and beyond. Her suite has everything she needs and the community is bustling with activities and the food is very good. She was lucky to have friends already as residents when she moved in, and she has made many more in the last two months. I have peace of mind knowing she is safe, and mom has peace of mind as well. thank you Berwick Royal Oak!
Nearly three years ago my family and I visited the Berwick to see what it was like. I had been checking out places to call my next home. We all agreed that Berwick was it! During that visit, I found the staff very friendly and I was impressed with all the activities that were offered . I also liked that there was good variety of suites available. My move in 2021 was fairly smooth considering COVID 19. Even with downsizing . I have enough space in my suite for all my furniture and belongings. I am still getting use to having my suite cleaned and vacuumed, my bed made and some laundry done. Every week a bubbly, happy, smiling cleaning lady shows up! I am now truly retired! There are three places for dining and even a Pub for glass of wine or a pint of beer. Also if you want to take food up to your suite, you can go to the Bistro. There are always several choices on the menu. The servers in the dining area are friendly, helpful and kind. They joke and laugh with the residents, treating them like Grandparents or Aunts and Uncles. It is really lovely to see . I suppose if you are a nitpicker, probably could find something not the same as it use to be. But I have seen the staff and residents working hard to keep everyone happy and safe. I am very happy that I made the choice to move to Berwick. It gets a 5 star rating from me.
