Chartwell New Edinburgh Square is a classy, upscale, well-organized retirement residence in the heart of Beechwood Village, with shops and services part of the community. The vibrancy just outside the door is matched inside, where there’s an extensive list of amenities. There’s an emphasis on space throughout, and seniors who move here will truly find room to grow.
Excellent location. Great suites. I am very impressed with the whole operation. It’s like a one-stop shop.
Very nice clean seniors home for independent living. Well-maintained and pleasant.
It's [really just] a big family, but we have our own lives.
NES has everything going for it! The location is situated a stones throw from the metro, the pharmacy, a variety of coffee shops, bookstore and banking. The staff are accommodating, thoughtful and caring. The caring attitude extends beyond the resident to include family and friends. The manager, Brendan King has been very forthcoming and helpful meeting the special needs of my brother in law. They have a variety of daily activities for all to enjoy. The meals include a delicious variety and the open cafe is a great hub for social engagement. We were very happy with NES while my mother in law lived there for years. The medical staff were attentive and reassuring. Now her son, my brother in law is very happy living there. He’s happy to call this his home and his family.
My mother moved to NES a few years ago and she is enjoying the lifestyle. The members of the staff are friendly and accommodating as they seek to respond to the residents' needs. A good variety of daily activities and outings are available to the residents. Recently, the team helped us celebrate my mother's birthday in the banquet hall. We were able to select the menu choices and the food was beautifully prepared. We look forward to many more celebrations!
Moved my Mom here in March. Great location: clean and well maintained. Terrific staff from top to bottom: customer service, maintenance, food services, nursing…everyone is friendly, caring and attentive. A big thank you to the team at Chartwell NES!
This is an exceptional retirement residence in every way. The facilities are sparkling clean and safe, with tons of spaces for residents to explore and relax, and lots of activities. The staff are so caring and attentive. Great central location too, with lots of walking and shopping opportunities in Beechwood Village.
I'm writing on behalf of my mother-in-law, who moved into the residence early in the new year. She is happy with the suite and feels safe and secure. The staff is very courteous and competent, and quite proactive at anticipating her needs. The food is excellent with many choices.
As a community, Bruyère Village is built on a foundation of independence, support, and inclusivity. We are not a retirement home or long-term care facility, but a place where seniors can age in place, with access to flexible, personalized assisted living services when needed at no extra cost. Our Assisted Living Services for High-Risk Seniors program offers 24/7 supports from licensed staff right in tenants' apartments, allowing them to maintain autonomy without the need for disruptive moves. Tenants enjoy modern amenities such as full kitchens, in-suite laundry, and the option of beautiful river-view apartments overlooking the Ottawa River. For those seeking flexibility, we offer optional meal plans, and for seniors who prefer a fully managed experience, we provide an all-inclusive package in our beautiful bachelor suites. We offer a variety of organized activities and outings to keep tenants socially engaged. We also provide subsidized housing in some of our Villa apartments through the Ottawa Housing Registry, ensuring high-quality, affordable living options for all seniors. Conveniently located near shopping and amenities, the Bruyère Village offers a peaceful, safe nature-filled environment that enhances quality of life.
Chartwell offers a range of senior living options across Canada including independent and assisted living retirement homes, memory care, long term care and extended care residences. Located on the banks of the Ottawa River in Orleans, the Bruyère Village is surrounded by nature and walking trails. Shopping located nearby and public transit is located in front of the building.
Chartwell New Edinburgh Square derives its name from the vibrant New Edinburgh neighbourhood it calls home. Bordered on the west by the Rideau River, to the north by the Ottawa River, to the south by Beechwood Avenue and on the east by Princess Avenue, our neighbourhood is a walker’s paradise and perfect for people who enjoy the outdoors or have a dog. Residents of Chartwell New Edinburgh Square benefit from direct access to a number of convenient amenities located in the same building as our retirement residence—such as The Scone Witch and Clocktower Brew Pub—with many more located on Beechwood Avenue, including banks, grocery stores, pharmacies, boutiques, cafés and restaurants. The Rideau River is a block away, and we are also nearby Stanley Park. Downtown Ottawa—with its arts and cultural attractions, historic buildings and fine and casual dining choices—is a short 10-minute drive away.
