The Terrace is ideal for London and area seniors who are still active and want the very latest in senior living accommodations. The newness of this community is wonderful, found in the spaciousness of the lobby and the bright open feel created by the expansive windows. The contemporary feel extends to personal suites and their features like generous closet space, French doors, and individual temperature control.
Oakcrossing has quickly built a reputation for excellence, offering the highest quality retirement living in a state-of the art residence. Those who have moved here have quickly come to love their new life. Family members also appreciate the care available and the quality of the amenities here. Oakcrossing is a response to the needs of today's senior who want a place that will completely transform life. You'll cherish the new life you find in a community of friendly, engaged peers.
Nice new facilities. My parent stayed there for respite care. A good experience. Caring staff, nice meals.
The staff at this beautiful, energetic, and above all friendly... Sifton Homes deserves a medal for their care in building, and the quality finishes they used. It's wonderful coming to visit and going for a walk around the grounds, a sit down on the patio, or a coffee in the bistro!
The Staff are all so friendly and helpful. So are the residents. There's also lots of activities and entertainment. I love that [mom] is closer to me. The Staff are very receptive to any of my requests. All in all, [it's] a great place.
I have never regretted my decision to move here. I love the rural country feel. Dorchester Terrace is such a welcoming place of friendship and community.
Before calling Dorchester Terrace my home, I lived in Windsor Ontario. I'm 92 years old and had lost interest in being in my home – tired of cooking and baking and everything that went into being a homeowner. I looked for my new home for about two years! My son suggested I search closer to him and my daughter-in-law who live in Belmont. Being closer to them was extremely important to me. There were quite a few things that helped me make the decision to move to Dorchester Terrace, the first being that it feels like living at a 5-star hotel – I feel like I'm living at the Ritz! Being a brand new residence, everything is fresh and new. I love the layout of my suite, closets and French doors, the amenities, individual temperature control, air conditioned hallways and the brightness that shines through my windows. I wish I had made the move sooner; I should have been here four years ago! No more garden to care for, home repairs to be looked after or cooking to be done. The entrance to Dorchester Terrace is beautiful and was such a lovely surprise. Chandeliers, lots of windows and bright open space, and then there's the private dining room! There is so much to enjoy here, including; crafts, euchre, coffee club, bingo and the fitness centre. One piece of advice I would give to others looking for a retirement option is to move while you can still participate! Be ready to get your legs and mind moving and enjoy your health. When my family comes to visit I love to show off my new home and go to the Bistro for lunch. The downsizing process was overwhelming. I had spent 62 years in my past home so my daughter helped me go room to room and decide what was important to me. From there I sent things home with my other family members. Dorchester Terrace gave me information about moving companies as well, but luckily I was prepared and ready to go thanks to my family. My brand new suite is everything I could want, it's close to everything but tucked out of site.
My mom moved into Oakcrossing this summer and right away, with the help of the wonderful staff she felt at home. The building and grounds are lovely. Clean, warm and inviting. There are so many activities to keep the residents busy: bus trips, crafts, games, social time and the food, I’m told, is great! The staff is always helpful, they have taken the time to get to know my mom, and are always willing to help me out with questions, as we navigate mom’s new adventure. This was a great decision, for our family.
My family were delighted with the outstanding care and support our Mother received when it became evident that she was unable to remain on her own. Oakcrossing made the transition from hospital to their facility a seamless and drama-free experience at a heightened time of sensitivity. Our Mother loved the food, her spacious and modern one bedroom suite but above all, the caring and empathetic staff. To them, she was not just another resident but a member of the Oakcrossing family. I would highly recommend Oakcrossing as a top level option for retirement living.
Having moved my Dad into Oakcrossing in September 2021 we are so thankful and pleased at this amazing facility. The staff is top notch, and I would love to name them all and give them a shout out, there are so many amazing people that work here I would be afraid of missing someone. I can't always visit due to distance, Oakcrossing makes it easy with an option for virtual visits which they set up completely, making it foolproof with my technology challenged Dad. There are lots of common spaces, and a variety of activities and events and my dad picks what he enjoys doing. He raves about the food and comments often "you will never starve here" LOL. He often comments how amazing and friendly the staff are. My Dad is honestly loving this facility and that is the greatest gift to family members, peace of mind, for those who worry about the health and happiness of an elderly loved one.
We moved here for the sake of my husband, John. He was in assisted living here for a while, then transferred to long-term care when a room opened up. I could just go down the hallway over to the other building. And I could see that he had very good care over there, too. It was a godsend, really ... The staff are wonderful. All very helpful. All wonderful. You just have to ask ... It's a wonderful community. Everybody here is friends. It's interesting, because we often find out we have connections and things in common even though we didn't know each other.
The food here is superior. It's a lot of little things that make a big difference. We've had some new people coming in, just for a lunch, and they told us, “we can't believe the chatting you folks do!†But that's how it is here. Everyone accepts you the way you were. There's no people up here or down there, it's all the same, no matter what your experience was, we're all the same.
