Both family members and the seniors who live here list the most striking quality of this community as "the genuine friendliness of the staff" … their eagerness to please. And when it comes right down to it, that's the most important aspect of any retirement community. A clean, healthy environment with great food and fun activities is always important (Credit River has all those things!) but ultimately there's nothing better than being surrounded by people willing to go out of their way to make every day the best it can be.
This building has it all for Toronto seniors. Condo ownership is available for those looking to invest. Rental suites offer exceptional retirement features, with some assistance available. This results in an integrated community, where seniors can decide to switch from condo ownership to care, in a community they're already familiar with. The best thing about the Parkland, though, is the unique combination of in-building luxuries and abundant conveniences just outside the door.
The transition for my Mom was a big worry. I wanted this to be home right from day one. The staff made it just that, answering all my 1000 emails/texts so quickly, and welcoming and having her space perfectly ready for her to move in with no problems. It hasn’t even been a full week and they call her by her name. The food is exceptional and they always give her extra dessert.
The staff are very welcoming and patient. They never seem rushed and make you feel like you are what’s most important. The atmosphere is pleasant, comforting and welcoming, and the upkeep is impeccable. My father stayed for a short while in respite care and had a great experience.
Credit River’s team have been wonderful helping us to transition dad from his home to their Retirement home . We had many questions and concerns going in however they were handled with patience and honesty and, in the end, we felt this was the best place for our father to live a better quality of life. Their team of nurses and PSWs are kind and attentive. We know dad will be well taken care of.
To appreciate this review you have to understand that moving my loved one out of her home into an unfamiliar environment was one of the most agonizing decisions I ever had to make. Now I feel that moving her to Credit River has been one of the best decisions we made with respect to her care. It warms my heart to see her living on the memory care floor with wonderful people, just like her, who are treated with the utmost dignity and care. The staff are kind and patient, and the environment is cozy with all the elements of home - right down to the warm raisin toast and tea before bedtime.
My sister and I have high praise for Susan and all staff at Credit River Retirement Residence. They have been honest, very helpful and efficient when our mom needed to go into Assisted-Living. Mom has now been there for 7 months and feels very comfortable and safe knowing staff will help and guide her as she navigates her way through Dementia. Our mom enjoys the activities plus finds all the meals very satisfying. My sister and I know our mom is in the best of care at Credit River Retirement Residence.
Lovely staff and ambiance!
I can’t say enough great things about Parkland on the Glen and its staff. My dad has made it his home for 4 years and loves it. The staff are always friendly, helpful, caring and respectful. Their wide variety of activities, services and delicious meals are topped off with a beautiful setting.
Mom is opening up her circle of friends since moving here. There’s a real down east, hometown feel to it. You see this in different aspects of the community there,[especially in] some of the activities that they run. There’s a family feeling [in] a small community where everybody knows everybody, everyone says hello. It’s comfortable.
We're really connected here. We're a close family, and everyone (kids and grandkids) are all within 10 minutes. [This place] has everything you would want or need, it's wonderful.
Things like in-house yoga classes are a great opportunity to socialize ... You are never too old to adopt new traditions.
You can create a living space that is distinctly your own in our 6-storey boutique-style residence. Our community offers an all-inclusive lifestyle, where the daily tasks of grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, shovelling are diminished. Most of our suites have their own private balconies or terraces. If you love a garden, our beautiful parkette will win you over. Our highly skilled health care professionals are available around the clock to ensure your immediate and future needs are met. Dine daily enjoying specialties from our culinary team, join in on an outing, game or fitness class before you retire to your beautifully appointed suite you call home.
