Tansley Woods is ideal for a variety of people. Older adults who currently live alone love that they can have all their housework and meals taken care of, and can find friends to talk to just outside the door. For seniors who are advancing in age, there are customized levels of care focused exactly on their needs. The community here is warm and inviting.
The best and brightest of senior living goes into this community. The amenities here are dazzling, including an onsite café, pub, and other five-star features. There’s also a hairdresser and manicurist, along with a concierge to make sure all your needs are met. People who participate in brain gym really enjoy the benefits of this program. If you’re going to move somewhere new, why not make it brand new? If you're looking for the best in the GTA, imagine life in one of these bright suites with wide windows, and a completely new bath and kitchen.
An extremely nice, clean and friendly place to visit. We feel like we won a jackpot when our family member was accepted here. The grounds are very nicely kept and the inside is decorated for any /all holidays. The staff are very friendly and caring. Always look forward to taking our relative out of his area and out to have a beverage where they have coffee stations with juice, water and fruit. Total thumbs up for this place.
My parents have been there for about 1 month. From the first tour with Janeny to the assessment with Paige prior to moving in - the experience was great! Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful and willing to go the extra mile to make you feel at home. My siblings & I know that our parents are in a safe and loving place where everyone considers you family.
Always lovely to visit my mother here. Staff is friendly and so are all the people I meet on my way. Clean and bright.
My friend Sheila is so well cared for...thank you all!
I dropped in to obtain further information regarding placing a family member, after having a tour a few weeks ago. I was assisted easily, and given information that helped. This provided insight into this home, and made me feel more comfortable in selecting this location, as I felt that the time was taken to assist our family.
I took my parents for a tour of the Viva Oakville retirement residence and I must say that it was an absolutely wonderful experience dealing with the staff, as they made my parents feel really welcome. I want to especially acknowledge Shikha Bhatia and Kiran Sohal who both went out of their way to answer our questions and make my parents feel comfortable. Keep up the great work Viva Oakville!!
My Mom is one of the original Community Members at V!VA Oakville, moving in September 2019. The staff are all wonderful, friendly & caring. They're one big family. The Lifestyles Team organizes fun & interesting activities, both within the building & outings that use the V!VA bus for transportation. Chef Rob (Executive Chef) never disappoints with his 5 star rated meals. The servers in the dining room remember the special requests of the Community Members and bring them without having to be asked. (2 teabags in the teapot; what kind of tea; no crackers with soup; warm the pie; extra whip cream; etc) We just celebrated my Mom's 90th birthday and every V!VA team member that was involved went above & beyond to make her day perfect. Frank Pantusa (Culinary Services Manager) worked with us for many weeks to plan this party & shared many wonderful ideas to help make sure things ran smoothly. He ensured everything was organized & worked very hard during the party, which was greatly appreciated. The meals that Chef Rob served were prepared to perfection. The presentation & taste of our delicious meals were thoroughly enjoyed by all 31 guests. From the hors d'oeuvres to dessert, everyone's taste buds were joyous. Chef Rob was a pleasure to work with during the planning stages, sharing his suggestions & expertise. The 2 servers that worked during Mom's party were top-notch. Arlene & Maricar worked very hard, and made sure everything was perfect & smiled all evening. I live out of province & stay with Mom in her suite when I visit. I am always made to feel welcome by both Community Members & V!VA Team Members. V!VA Oakville is my Mom's (& all Community Member's) home & everyone is treated as such, which is perfect! (I've included 1 photo from our dinner. It's the dessert, Eton Mess, prepared by Chef Rob.) V!VA Oakville is more than worthy of this 5 star review. Thank you V!VA Oakville for being so wonderful.
Viva Oakville is a wonderful retirement community. The staff are friendly and always helpful. My in-laws have been very happy making Viva their home. It is always kept clean and there are lots of activities and entertainment. Suites are nicely designed and well equipped.
My parents moved in just before Covid and it was a great move. Lots of activities and great staff. Very positive experience.
When I decided it was time for me to make plans to leave my beloved home, a bungalow in Milton, I decided to start by making the rounds of all the Senior Retirement Communities in Oakville, to decide where I would like to go live. I visited pretty well all of them and discussed my findings with my family. Together we decided that the best place for me would be VIVA OAKVILLE for the following reasons: 1- Everything is new and atttractive. 2- Everyone living here looked like people I would like to be friends with. 3- There are nurses on location day and night. 4- Although expensive, they are not the most expensive. 5- They have so much going on here that the residents have something to do all the time if they wish. 6- It is great not to have to cook my own meals, and the food is really good. 7- Every resident has an emergency button they can push if they fall or need assistance. In very few words, I am thrilled that I moved here. I love it.
Our Village is a proud part of a Canadian family tradition of community building that goes back 70 years. The first Schlegel family home became the foundation of what Schlegel Villages is today. Here at The Village of Tansley Woods, we offer several lifestyle options to meet a variety of needs. Our continuum of care allows for residents to age with us in place as their needs change. The residents we serve come from a range of backgrounds that thread together the fabric of our community, and while we know resident-centredness is a term that many lean on these days, we truly do focus on each individual’s wishes to guide our approach to service. Our Signature Programs help us focus on the individuality of each resident we serve. Our LIVING in My Today dementia care philosophy, for example, was developed by our team and our partners alongside people with lived experience. This provides our team the opportunity to learn exactly what it means to support a person who is experiencing the changing perceptions of dementia. We also celebrate the Wisdom of the Elder as another Signature Program, thanks to the inspiration of our founder Ron Schlegel. Ron once said: “The greatest untapped resource in Canada, if not the world, is the collective wisdom of our elders,” and we honour the individual and collective wisdom of those we serve in ways large and small.

The Village of Tansley Woods is located on the corner of Upper Middle Rd. and Itabashi Way where the street is marked by the flowering of Sakura (cherry blossom) trees every Spring. The blooming of these trees occur at the end of April to early May and is symbolic of the close friendship between the cities of Burlington and Itabashi, Japan. If you further explore the neighbourhood, you will find the Itabashi Garden and Itabashi bridge over Shoreacres Creek and trail by the Tansley Woods Community Center.
Located at 1 Sixteen Mile Drive at Sixth Line just north of Dundas, V!VA Oakville is nestled alongside a residential enclave, yet still close to convenient shopping, and great restaurants. Plus, we're just minutes from Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Highway 403, and downtown Oakville.
