Gain exclusive insight into life at Chelsea Park. Comfort Life’s reviews give you exclusive insider information.
Among Vancouver retirement homes, Chelsea Park is a uniquely homey, comfortable environment offering striking value for anyone 55 and older. It’s a boutique-style retirement community, less formal than some other retirement residences, but with much of the vibrancy you’ll find in more expensive communities. With respect to the activities and amenities, you’ll find everything you need to make days complete.
Set foot in Chelsea Park, and the first thing you hear will likely be laughter. It’s a special place where residents are comfortable and genuine with each other. The emphasis here is on coziness. You’ll find home-cooked meals and afternoon tea parties are an important part of life. For such an affordable community, the list of activities is extensive. There are outings, live entertainment, Bingo, tennis and golf, gardening clubs, card games, exercise classes... and the list goes on.
Just outside the community you’ll also find some wonderful features. Expansive Trout Lake park is right across the street, with a variety of walking trails and even a beach. There’s a community center there, and down the street on Commercial Drive/Victoria Drive there’re a variety of shops. You can live a full life here, and we might argue that Chelsea Park offers some of the best value we’ve seen in a retirement home.

We are very proud of the Chelsea Park staff and the warm and caring community that they have created in this small spot near Trout Lake Park.
Thanks so much for the care you and your team gave to my mother while at Chelsea Park. I was not expecting such a great experience. We looked at the places that charge double the cost of your facility does so we were expecting to lower our expectations since we could not afford the other places.
But much to our surprise you were so much better than we could’ve ever experienced at any other place, simply the best. I think it is because of your genuine care and attention to my mother and all of the other residents under your management. I honestly found that the rest of the staff were very good but somehow you were a shining like that made me feel like I was leaving my mother with a loving family member who really cared about her. You were professional and caring to the maximum degree.
If you want a friendly place, not too formal, this is the greatest place to be. I would never want to go anywhere else. I would recommend this to anyone. I would recommend it to anyone.
You couldn’t ask for any better service than the girls that work in the dining room. The chef is also wonderful. Bus trips to different places are also very enjoyable.
We felt very uncomfortable about moving to the city, but you would never know we are in one. We walk across the street to places we call the ‘People Beach’, the ‘Dog Beach’, and the ‘Duck Bench’ at Trout Lake. At our new home we get lunch & dinner served in the attractive dining room. The staff are very good at remembering what people can and cannot eat. We are very happy here and cannot imagine living anywhere else. We get our suite cleaned once a week. I feel very spoiled. I would advise anyone looking for a place to live, “Come to Chelsea Park you will be very happy.”
I love living at Chelsea Park! My apartment is really comfortable and the staff members are super. The park and community center are right across the street – simply perfect.
Just wanted to let you know how appreciative our family is for being so prompt in fixing and eventually replacing our mom’s fridge. Thank you for you and your staff for always providing exceptional service to keep the residents safe and healthy.
Thank you both again for all that you do for the residents at Chelsea Park. You take care of everyone just as you would your own family and it means more than the world to me and my siblings.
Don was so fortunate to move into your building. It was such a great place for him. His family feel very grateful that he lived there. Good staff, good food and good programs. And live music! It was the best.
My family has lived in East Vancouver for over 50 years and the Trout Lake neighborhood is like a second home so finding Chelsea Park for my Mom was great. Six months after my Dad died my Mom made the difficult decision to move out of our family home. Not easy after 55 years in the same place! Chelsea Park has just enough care and connection with people and just enough privacy to maintain independence. Mom has lived at Chelsea Park for a year and a half and has made wonderful friends AND started knitting again after many years. All of her grandchildren, friends and new babies have been the lucky recipients of new toques!
