Belmont House is unique for being a non-profit community that offers an impressively luxurious lifestyle. It also boasts excellence in care and amenities, on a beautiful park-like property in the heart of the prestigious Rosedale neighbourhood. With its community of cheerful peers and a friendly building rife with things to do, it’s a seniors’ garden of delights in the middle of Toronto.
If you’re going to move out of the house you love and are familiar with, move to a place that’s suited to the person you are at this age—but including so much more! That’s what Belmont House offers. You can truly live a full life in this building. There are many amenities and activities, excellent dining, and onsite services that include everything from pastoral care to art therapy to performances by music and theatre groups.
Seniors who move here find it very easy to make friends in the community and renew interests they’ve lost in recent years. There are little niches of interesting things to do everywhere. For example, there's a putting green on the side lawn, an arts and crafts room, a secure rooftop garden, and fun group exercise classes in the auditorium.
Apartments at the Belmont House are spacious and secure, but you’ll love the lively community here. This includes both seniors and staff. Staff are well-versed in offering physical care but also mental and emotional care. Seniors who move here find it revitalizing, and family members are deeply relieved by the care and lifestyle their loved ones gain here. To fully understand the complete living experience here, you have to try it.
We've collected reviews and testimonials from around the web that are relevant to you: those from residents and their loved ones.
My mom has been here for three-plus years, and I can tell you with confidence that Belmont House is the best retirement and long-term care home available in Toronto. The waiting list is six years for a reason, and that time frame keeps growing. The staff is wonderful, and many activities are offered daily. It's almost like an all-inclusive five-star hotel for the elderly. The people you find here have all done great things for Canada in their youth. I am proud to belong to this community.
It’s a [well kept] secret that Belmont House is the best of the best in Ontario. The facility has elite accreditations with a highly skilled and compassionate management team. For example, there wasn’t a single resident COVID-19 infection during the entire pandemic - wow! They are currently rolling out the Butterfly program for dementia care, one of the first of its kind in Canada. With years of experience with family members at Belmont, I have no hesitations whatsoever to recommend.
My mother lived there and I volunteered there. Not only is it the "seniors home of choice", it has received the ultimate official confirmation of being the best possible by official inspections resulting in it being accredited "in exemplary standing". Anyone who retires there or who is a long-term patient there or who works or volunteers or visits there should consider themselves truly blessed.
Belmont House truly feels like home. The friendly and supportive community is always there for you.
There is always so much to participate in and enjoy. I’ve never been bored.
In light of the [pandemic], I have felt so safe. I know I can trust the staff and that they really care about us all.
When I first told my son I had decided to sell my house and move to Belmont he thought I went soft in the head. Now that he sees I get to live my life without all the extra work and stress of maintaining a home as well as the reassurance of nursing staff right downstairs if I ever need them, he agrees that I absolutely made the right decision.
Staff did a really remarkable job of keeping our family close while we have to stay physically apart.
