Innovation and newness are a hallmark of life at Port Credit Residences. This was one of the first GTA communities to employ the Brain Gym program, which helps train seniors in improving their memory and handling stress. The program even throws in some physical exercise. The availability of the community's nurse practitioner was also a Toronto first, when the building opened in 2011. Visiting "therapy dogs" are one more aspect of life at Port Credit Residences that make this community stand out.
Walking distance from the shores of Lake Ontario, Port Credit Residences offers a very modern and contemporary take on senior care. One of the biggest draws of this community is the proximity to the lakefront and the spectacular views afforded, even as you sit in your suite, most of these suitably located on the building's corners. Inside, the décor is very modern and contemporary, working shades of brown, taupe, blue and teal.
While location is important, care and community make the Residences extra special. There are warm gathering places throughout the building, from an open-concept piano room to the ultra-modern, woodgrain-interior dining room. One of the many popular places within the community is the indoor pool. There are aquafit classes and several types of therapy available in the pool. It's also equipped with a ramp entrance, one of many accessible features you'll find throughout the Residences. There are a variety of facets to care here, notably, a nurse practitioner onsite five days a week and on call around the clock. The nurse practitioner oversees all health needs of residents, ranging from administering blood tests to working with available doctors.

My Aunt has lived here for the last 4 years and now unfortunately she must move on to Long Term Care. I couldn't leave without telling other people how Fabulous this place is! Port Credit Residences has very friendly, caring and helpful staff that always try to do their very best! The residence is clean and welcoming and has lots of activities for the residents. The food is great and varied. And it's in a terrific location - so close to everything. I always felt peaceful & secure in knowing my aunt was well looked after between my weekly visits. Thanks again to all the Staff for all their hard work! :-)
My mother-in-law lived in the Port Credit Residences... in the nicest one bedroom suite. It had a beautiful view of a park and a swimming pool. The facility was great, the food excellent and staff really made the difference. I used to drop in on my walk home from the GO Station to say hello to her. She was very well taken care of there until her passing.
Recently I had a reason to reach out to the Residences to try and find help for someone very dear to me. Unannounced I walked in one day and ended up speaking to some of the nursing staff. I left a message and before I knew it Eva Triolo (the manager) called me. She remembered my mother-in-law and generously took the time to help me find the help I was looking for. I cannot speak highly enough about the facility and satff. They are the best.
So vibrant and active. It's an environment I'd pick for myself. We've had a lot of comfort with my mom being there. The residence was very welcoming for my mom. When you have a coffee in the common area, you get a feeling for what the community is like [and] my mom chose this because she found it friendly and warm.

Our mother lived for over six years in this most wonderful retirement home. I cannot say enough in praise of Port Credit Residences; a well run establishment.
The staff at PRC are very caring and go above and beyond their job descriptions in making their residences feel at home and their families welcome. The staff became our friends; all of them from the ladies in the front office, to the reception desk, nurse practitioner, nursing staff, dining room, recreational staff and maintenance were all caring and helpful.
The chefs prepare delicious, inventive meals every day. Special attention is always put forth in celebration of all calendar events.
I want to give a word of thanks to Jackie and Eva who were our first contacts at PCR. We were convinced from the first meeting that we had made a good choice of retirement home for our mother. These ladies continued to be thoughtful and helpful throughout my mother’s stay.
During the past few years dealing with Covid 19, strict protocols were put in place and adhered to. We all felt safe and protected.
When it was time for my mother to move on to long term care recently, she was very sad to leave all her friends that she had made here. Our family can honestly say that our feelings about Port Credit Residences, as a great place to live, have not changed from the day we first visited, over six years ago.
Mom has recently moved into Port Credit Residences and is still in her 14 day quarantine period. Fabulous meals are delivered to her door, enough for sharing or tucking in a mini fridge for later. The room is spacious and cleaned weekly for residents. She occupies her time watching children playing in the park or on the skating rink. A nurse visits regularly for temperature checks to ensure resident health safety. Jigsaws are delivered to the door, during quarantine, with a simple call to reception or a note left outside the door. And activity staff regularly provide games to challenge the mind. Her favourite day so far, her birthday, when a glass of white wine was delivered with best wishes. Can't wait for the okay for her to be able to join in and wander about with other resident, we are counting the days. A shout-out to Eva and Jackie, thank you for making her feel welcome.
My mother has been living at PCR for 5 years. The residence is extremely well run and the location is fantastic, near the lake, beside a park and on the main street in Port Credit (lots of opportunity to people watch). The staff are professional, kind, knowledgable and committed to the residents well being. Under "normal" circumstances the staff makes a real effort to keep everyone active and entertained while trying to accommodate personal preferences. Over the last year PCR has done a great job of managing the pandemic. The focus has been on keeping everyone safe (although this means curtailing a lot of social activities). The nursing staff is very professional. My mother (94) is very comfortable at PCR. She often tells me how "safe and well looked after" she feels - that's a home run for us!! I would not hesitant recommending this residence.
My mom called PC Residences her home for 5 years. She first came to know the Residences while she was convalescing after a fall. She liked it so much that she decided to move in permanently. The staff are like family. There are a wide variety of activities available, regular entertainment such as musicians, the food is amazing and it's very close to the downtown of Port Credit. Although COVID-19 has impacted the social activities and outings that were available to the residents, the staff have continued to do their best in providing safe opportunities for the residents to participate in the activities they enjoy so much. Our family was always welcome when we visited and we had peace of mind knowing that mom was happy and thriving in such a warm and caring environment. We would highly recommend PC Residences to anyone looking for a retirement home.
When Lee moved in 5 years ago she and her dog were so warmly welcomed. In no time the staff and other residents knew her name and were chatting in the common areas with her. the staff truly have time for everyone. We, her family, were always encouraged to join for a meal or any other recreational activities. It was always nice to come at tea time and go down to the lounge and have tea and cake. We could visit and there was never the feeling that we were a burden as she would need to make tea or have biscuits or cake to offer, and no washing up after! Due to covid this of course has stopped but their care and attention during this time has been wonderful. They have managed this outbreak admirely. We would 100% recommend this location if anyone has any doubts, shift them aside and jump in!
Mom is having a wonderful time living at Port credit residence for the last six years, and our family agrees with all of the teriffic things written here. It was during our initial visit with Eva and Jackie (after touring several facilities) that I knew my mom felt comfortable and at ease, mainly because of the overall feeling when you walk in the door. Their professionalism, courtesy and genuine concern for the residents well-being is evident in everyone who chooses to work there. The building and her suite is exceptionally clean, well maintained and offers many available facilities, the meals prepared are delicious, plentiful and offer different choices to suit everyone. There are so many daily activities, movie nights and scheduled trips weekly to keep her as busy as she wants. Knowing that nursing staff are available, people concerned for her well-being, mentally and physically and having so mu h social interaction, gives our family piece of mind. My mom has made many new friends, is enjoying her life, keeping active, staying healthy, having fun, and living her best life. That's all anyone wants for their loved one. I have met so many wonderful, caring people since my mom has moved into Port Credit residence, there too many to mention here. Port Credit residence gets 5 stars in every category.
I moved to PCR almost two years ago to be closer to my family and I couldn’t have made a better choice. I am happy and proud to call PCR home and highly recommend it to anyone thinking of moving into a residence such as this.
Our family and my father in-law are very grateful to Port Credit Residences for their care, concern, and willingness to help in a variety of ways.
The facility is aesthetically beautiful, clean and above all safe for my father-in-law. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, approachable, and willing to act. The residents are friendly and welcoming.
My father-in-law experienced significant change to his health during COVID-19. As a result, he made the decision to move to Port Credit Residences. The staff were terrific as they balanced safety related to COVID-19 as well as support and caring for someone who was no longer living independently and moving in from out of town.
There were some delays to his arrival due to safety concerns. These decisions were clearly explained to us and under the circumstances, ensured the safety of both the current residents and my father-in-law.To assist with the transition leading up to moving in and since he has been living there, they have continually problems solved and generously provided support in many ways. I was told that they treat their residents as they would their own family. They are respectful, caring, encouraging and helpful.
It has been 6 weeks since my father-in-law moved in and he is feeling more socially connected, more physically able and safe. He knows if he needs help, it is available 24/7. This gives him peace of mind. For our family, this move has given us peace of mind as well … I cannot thank the staff enough for their positive attitude, their willingness to mobilize, offer solutions and make changes to help my father-in-law.
My mother has been in this residence for the past two years and we are very happy with their attention to all her needs. We are particularly pleased with how well; they have addressed the Covid-19 pandemic. We feel very confident that my mother is safe here. Eva & Jackie have been wonderful, they are warm and caring toward all the residents and make it a happy place to live, even during these difficult times.
Our Mum recently made the difficult decision to move from her own home to a retirement residence. She looked at a number of buildings and chose the Residences at Port Credit because of the great location - walking distance to both the lake for quiet walks and the GO Station for trips into Toronto - and because of her modern suite with a balcony, laminate floors, tons of storage and bright, freshly painted walls. The decision to move was a very stressful process given COVID-19 restrictions, but the staff at Port Credit (especially Eva and Jackie) could not have been more helpful, reassuring and accommodating. Their commitment to making our mom's transition safe, comfortable and simple was really appreciated by our Mum and our family.

Dad’s move from his house to the Port Credit residence was not a happy time. Following his stroke, the new reality is difficult to accept. Staff at Port Credit residence work to make everyone feel “at home” by knowing each person's name and character.
Our father resided at the Port Credit Residences for almost 7 years and it was always a very friendly atmosphere, from the residents to the staff. The location by the lake is spectacular, great walking distance for residents to take advantage of. The facility itself was always clean and fresh. Dad always commented that "the food was good"! Eva and Jackie deserve particular mention, as they were always friendly and very helpful, always there to lend a hand when needed. My family appreciated the care given to our Dad from the Port Credit staff and management.
My mother has lived at the Port Credit Residence for almost 3 years and she finds it a clean and well maintained building. The friendly caring accommodating staff go the extra mile to make the residents safe and happy. There are several amenities for them to enjoy.
I would not hesitate to recommend this as a place for any senior who wishes or needs to leave their family home.
We turned to Port Credit Residences when my mother in law fell and fractured her hip and was unable to return to her home. We arranged for her to go into Respite care once she was released from the hospital and we were very pleased with the level of care as she convalesced. She is now settled into her own suite and is really happy with her care and enjoying the food very much! Many, many thanks to Eva and Jackie for their patience as we have navigated this difficult transition. The entire staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
We are so pleased that my wife's father is staying at Port Credit Residences. He has been there over 5 years and we all have enjoyed the surroundings, amenities, healthy food, great programs and caring staff. As he has needed more support, this was available right from the residence nursing station with people he knows and likes. We are especially pleased at the way the Port Credit Residence has handled the pandemic. They kept him healthy throughout … We also had many Zoom calls set up by the residence in their offices. They brought him down and got him connected using their equipment and took him back to his room after seeing all the family including great grandchildren. We have come to know and respect the staff for the caring friendly way they treat the residents and relatives. The bonus is the pool table and the cappuccino machine in the lobby!!!
My mother lived there for several years. It was always clean, the food was fantastic, the events never stopped, but it was the people that work there that really make this place special. They weren't just nurses, assistants and coordinators, they were like family to her, and they treated her that way. When you can’t be there all the time that means everything. She could not have been in a better place.
The care and attention that are always in evidence at Port Credit Residences have given us great security about our mother's choice of home. Jackie, Eva, and Michelle are so much more than their job titles: they set the tone for the dedication, good humour, and willingness to help we see in every member of staff.
Staff at Port Credit Residences are exceptional. Recently, my brother who is a resident had been hospitalized and is now rehabilitating in a continuous care facility. We needed to get some clothing from Port Credit and because of Covid precautions, had to ask the staff to collect them as we could not enter his suite. The clothing was freshly laundered and carefully folded. It was considerate and professional and indicative of the attention to detail that staff always exhibit especially during these challenging times.
My family has used PCR for a number of years. 4 stars is my average rating for everything. However, I would give the recreation program 5+ stars because they make certain there is something for everyone and they have well planned and executed events, the PSW's 4 stars (although there are certainly some 5 star PSW's) and the food portions and quality a 3 based on family feedback.
My sister and I deeply appreciate the many ways that you and your colleagues assisted our mother get the most out of life during the 7+ years she lived at the residence. Eva, I vividly remember how influential you were in getting her to move in and the many times we asked for your guidance over the years. And Jackie, you always seemed to find a way to make your point with her and yet make her smile. I know she liked, trusted and felt supported by both of you. So, thank you again for your assistance and friendship to our mother - and to us! We think very highly of the staff, residents, the services and the building and we have recommended the residence to other people over the years.
When I contacted Eva [sales manager] about my mother she immediately made me feel heard and supported. It was a very tough time when we were having more than one issue to deal with in the family and I cannot thank Eva enough for helping me through this time. Port Credit Residences' staff truly care about their residents, their families and each other. If my mother can no longer be in her own home I can't think of a better place for her to be. I felt and still do feel, that they are there to make life as pleasant as possible for those in their care.
Port Credit Residences has been my home for over 6 years since I sold my home. I am very happy and content here. I love my food and meals are great, varied and tasty. The staff are always available, smiling and helpful, full of great ideas and eager to make our lives more pleasant. We are well taken care of by all staff members and though I am independent there have been times when I needed help and it was provided.[Some days] I wish I was back home in my house … but this really is my home now and I am quite content here. I would not want to be anywhere else. My children are reassured knowing that I am safe and happy and that if help is needed, it is available. I hope I never need to move out of my new home. Do I like it here? Yes - I love it!
My parents had a short term, months long stay at Port Credit Residences in 2020. The flexibility and support of this professional, caring team from onsite nurse practitioners, kind, compassionate, experienced managers, wonderful personal support staff, helpful maintenance, and all members of this proactive, health safety sensitive, responsive, responsible team created the best stay for my parents in extra-ordinary circumstances.
This has been a wonderful home for my dad over the past three years. The staff has consistently gone above and beyond. The building is clean and well maintained. Port Credit is an excellent location.
Our brother took up residence here just over a year ago while recovering from knee and hip replacement surgeries the previous year. We researched over 5 options and decided Port Credit was the best and most desirable choice. Great location in charming Port Credit near the lake, modern and well-designed building with great amenities.......dining room, bistro, well equipped gym, and lap pool, complimentary laundry facilities on each floor as well as an outdoor patio. Residents can have guests / family members join them for lunch / dinner for a nominal cost. Food is terrific and service is very personal. Members of the Port Credit team know the residents by name and makes for a friendly, welcoming experience.
There is also access to a park and sitting area right next door and complimentary underground parking which is very helpful if you are picking up a senior during inclement weather or slippery winter conditions.
The residents agreements are clear and understandable. The Comprehensive Insurance Solution is very affordable worth consideration. We were able to cancel previous contents insurance and save some money.
Just prior to Covid 19 our brother had some difficult challenges which limited his mobility and the care and empathy displayed by the Port Credit staff was exemplary. [During COVID-19] the management team and all staff implemented strict protocols for their residents, staff and relatives of residents. They were well communicated and executed.
Our family's experiences have been very favorable and we are pleased to offer our recommendation of Port Credit Residences for your loved ones.
My grandmother was a resident here and absolutely loved it. It's always very clean, the rooms are nice, and the food is terrific.
A few months ago, my parents suddenly ended up in very poor health and were no longer able to live in their home. One day I walked into Port Credit Residences and spoke to Eva, the Sales Manager, about the possibility of them moving in until we could decide next steps. Eva bent over backwards to accommodate us and make them (and our family) feel as comfortable as possible by arranging a suite at very short notice. My parents have been there ever since! [During COVID-19] PC Residences … have been extremely successful in keeping both their residents and staff safe. Management is very organized, sending out regular bulletins to both residents and caregivers with up-to-date information. The residence is small, with a personal touch, unlike many of the larger more “institutional” type homes. The amenities are lovely, and the building clean. My parents rave about the food! I am so grateful and cannot thank Eva and her staff enough for everything they have done for our family!
In November, my mom had a heart attack and the doctor advised she needed a few weeks of respite. Mom picked the Port Credit Retirement Residences as it was close to her home and church. She had visited a cousin before at PCRR and was impressed with the building's brightness and the activities. My first impression meeting Eva and Jackie, in the sales and marketing office, was their sincerity and their focus on my mom's needs. The plan was mom would stay for only 4 weeks but, 2 weeks into her stay, mom said "The longer I stay here, the more I wonder why I'd want to move back home!" [Now, many months later] my mom has been impressed with the friendliness of the residents, the many activities available and the tasty meals. If there is any concern with mom's health, a nurse reports quickly to her room and offers a health check. My sister and I are happy to say our first impressions are now our lasting impressions!
Eva was absolutely wonderful. When I contacted her about my mother she immediately made me feel heard and supported.

It's a very calm life here. I like the many events by the park [and nearby there are] lots of places to shop eat and exercise.
In mom's own words, she is very content here.
