This home is ideal for many reasons but is especially appealing to outdoor enthusiasts who will love the many trails nearby. Many residents who move here find a new or renewed love for exploring; hiking, canoeing and kayaking become new interests. Cedar Springs offers an almost implausible number of attractions.
Cedar Springs PARC is still very new, providing very modern, spacious suites, and an impressive array of amenities. You'll find a spa, a hairdresser, wellness centre, golf and a movie theatre, along with simpler pleasures like card games with friends, hiking trails and gardening. For all that, the care provided, from the emergency call system, to wheelchair accessibility throughout, to the nursing staff onsite, make this an ideally safe home for seniors who are still very independent. Staff here clearly demonstrate deep caring in everything they do.
Suites feature spectacular views of the nearby natural areas. Inside, there are delicious meals all prepared for you; you'll also find fitness facilities and very active hobby rooms. Nearby is all the shopping you need, and slightly further afield there are a variety of spectacular natural areas. Maplewood Flats is an ideal day outing with family, as is Roche Point Park. Mount Seymour Park is both a skiing destination and a natural wonder.

My mother moved into Cedar Springs PARC in August 2023. She loved her apartment, it was bright and very quiet. The staff were always very welcoming, helpful and they all knew her by name very quickly. She loved not having to think about meals, just go down to the dining room, sit with friends and enjoy the fantastic food placed before you! Unfortunately, mum passed away in December and again, the team at Cedar Springs were available to support us during this difficult time. I would recommend Cedar Springs PARC to anyone thinking of making the move to retirement living.
My parents moved in July 2021 and what a difference Cedar Springs has made to their lives! They’ve expanded their social circle by attending happy hours and discussion groups, they enjoy at least one excursion a month, and both love the food. Recently they enjoyed a wine tasting and food pairing event - they have a richer social than I do! The staff is always very helpful, understanding and friendly. We always joke that it’s like living on a cruise ship but it really is. They love the quiet, park-like setting of the Mt Seymour area with services and amenities just across the road in Parkgate Village, too. Very happy with Cedar Springs!
My mom called Cedar Springs Parc home for almost 10 years. Last year she passed away. Throughout the entire time living at Cedar Springs, the staff treated her with the utmost kindness and compassion. When the pandemic surfaced, the staff and larger organization were excellent in caring for all the residents, providing clear, well-thought-out communications and working hard to ensure the safety of staff, residents and families. When my mom passed, they were there every step of the way supporting my family with prompt, professional service. The staff and facilities are top notch and I would highly recommend them.
It exceeds all expectations! My Mother was one of the first 11 years ago to reside. Now 98.5 , it probably kept her alive an extra five to eight years. Great people , ambience , staff , management , and nurse. Can not say enough good about Cedar Springs. Outstanding all around!!!! The Best staff and Management - a Big Thank you, our family will miss the special occasion events & the private dining option- we could go on….
[Since moving in, Mom] is much healthier now and having great meals regularly. The structured exercise and activities provide a much healthier environment than she had, living isolated at home. Also, if she wants a social cocktail, she has a lovely communal fireside area where she can sit down, have a glass of wine, and people join her for a friendly chat. She’s playing more bridge than she did at home, and she is going on afternoon walks with friends she has met there. I always look at Cedar Springs as kind of a stationary cruise ship – just without the seasickness! What a break for some of these people who have been working their whole lives, looking after their children and grandchildren. It’s perfect!
As a Vancouver Coastal Health employee - I have just appreciated all the extra care and consideration for COVID as my parents move into Cedar Springs - Thank you it is very reassuring. I also have to give a huge "shout out" to Sean Wilkinson and his team - they have made the home transition of two 90 year old people - so incredibly helpful - I have so welcomed forward their "positivity", immediate and timely responsiveness as we work through all the details in some challenging times!
Cedar Springs is truly a welcoming place for anyone contemplating a move to Independent living. The beautiful suites and many services as well as outstanding food makes it one of the best of the facilities of the several facilities we toured in North Vancouver for my parents. We found it to be the best fit for active and independent seniors. We also know that it is people that make a place home and we would not have been able to navigate this journey without the kindness and warm understanding of Sean Wilkinson. He truly made the difference with his informative and yet "no pressure" approach as my parents contemplated this significant transition. We are so grateful to Cedar Springs , especially in these trying COVID times, as they make every effort to assist my parents in settling into their new home safely.
I don't think there is anything that you have missed... I love the fact that dogs and kids are welcome there. I can't tell you what a relief it is for our family to have my mother in a residence that so clearly cares about the comfort, safety and enjoyment of everyone.
I used to live in a nice condo in West Vancouver. But when you're by yourself, you maybe go two or three days before you even see anybody out in the hallway. I thought, there's got to be a better way. Here, it's like Cheers: 'where everybody knows your name!'
We have mountain trails on our doorstep, beaches and waterways for paddling. This is a huge advantage to other seniors' residences. It makes this place unique. My wife and I lived near UBC for 41 years, and we had an outstanding view of the mountains, city and ocean. But the one I have now ... it's pretty hard to beat!
[Getting involved] relaxes you, you can socialize and it makes you happy! The secret is to keep busy ... keep the activities going. It's much better here than being alone at home.
I am much more social than I was before. I visit with friends often.
