Reviews of Sifton - Erinview

Gain exclusive insight into life at Sifton - Erinview. Comfort Life’s reviews give you exclusive insider information.

Our perspective

Erinview's newest building, opened in 2019, raises the bar of care and community created in this established retirement residence. It's a completely contemporary living environment surrounded by beautiful older homes on tree-lined streets in Sheridan Homelands. Ideal for families in Mississauga, Milton, Oakville and elsewhere in the west GTA, the Erinview offers a uniquely homey feeling. That comes straight from the top, Sifton being family-run, focused on traditional values of respect for elders. One of the ways that's best exemplified is in the relative affordability of this community, compared to other seniors' residences in the area.

The recent renovations provide an open concept main floor that facilitates friendship and good times. Inside and out, this residence creates a compellingly safe, secure environment where you can sit with friends and enjoy time together. It's like a low rise condo, but with a wealth of communal activities that keep seniors moving and happy. People get active in the fitness studio. There are onsite movie nights and excursions to shopping and events. There's lots to do here, to create a life that's just right for you.

The Erinview combines coziness with a breadth of care that includes assisted living. Many people who live here also like the proximity of several churches, as well as shopping. It gives you everything you'll need at this stage of life. Take a tour and you might feel right at home.

We've collected reviews and testimonials from around the web that are relevant to you: those from residents and their loved ones.

I have resided at Erinview on two separate occasions for respite care due to hip replacement. When you walk into Erinview it feels like a warm home atmosphere. The staff and the workers are warm, caring, compassionate, and kind they care about the individual. The staff, PSWs, nurses, dining room staff, and maintenance workers are attentive to your every need. There is entertainment, outings, crafts, much to keep one busy if one so desires. In my opinion, Erinview is "par to none". I would never hesitate to have a loved one living there, because I know that they would be safe and in the most excellent care possible.

Teddy Arnup, senior

I have stayed at Erinview on two different occasions following knee replacement surgery. Erinview provided a safe and comfortable environment in which to start my recovery. The manager is very engaged with the full-time residents and those who are in for short rehabilitation stays. The PSWs were very kind and attentive and replied as promptly as possible to the personal calling devices which are given to all persons staying at Erinview. The medical staff was thorough and helpful, providing whatever level of medication support that each person required. There are lots of activities including bridge, jigsaw puzzles and handicrafts. I hope that I don’t have any more surgery for a long time but if I do Erinview would be my first choice to stay after my surgery.

My mom has lived here for over a year. She enjoys living here and has made so many wonderful friends. The staff are friendly, compassionate and caring and pay close attention to details…. Mom feels like she is part of an extended family here. I rest assured she is in great hands!

Before I moved into the Erinview, I lived here in Mississauga, just a few streets over from the Residence. We started searching for a retirment living option when my husband began developing Alzheimer's and taking care of him on my own started to get too difficult. My children suggested that it may be best to live somewhere where there was the option to have certain care and services provided; and they took it upon themselves to find us a place, sell the house, pack us up and help us relocate.

Given that we lived so close by, I spent many years driving by the building and seeing it from only its exterior. One day while out for lunch with my daughter-in-laws, they brought me into The Erinview for a tour. I walked in and had a great feeling right from the start. It felt comfortable, spacious; my gut was telling me this was it. The most important thing was to be someplace welcoming and inviting, and still have the space to keep certain pieces and memorabilia that would have been difficult to part with. I listened to my gut upon walking through those doors the very first time, and it spoke to me that this place was to become our new home. My suite has the right amount of space for the items that I wanted to keep, and it's the perfect size to display all my travel items and family photos proudly. The best piece of advice that I have for someone searching for a retirement residence would be to listen to their gut and follow that feeling.

One of the things that surprised me was the affordability of living in a retirement residence and I wished I had known sooner: I never have to cook again or make long grocery trips. I also love socials and entertainment programs such as music performances - they are my favourite. I also really enjoy going on the outings, especially shopping! My lovely suite has the right amount of space for the items that I wanted to keep and it's the perfect size to display all my travel items and family photos proudly!

Wonderfully refreshing to see beautiful people enjoying [every day] at Erinview.

I like the exercise programs very much. I think it's necessary. I try to go at least three times a week, sometimes four times a week. It's nice, too, here, you can go out for a walk, the streets in the neighborhood have lots of nice gardens.
