Gain exclusive insight into life at Credit River - Verve Senior Living. Comfort Life’s exclusive reviews and videos give you insider information from residents and their families.
Both family members and the seniors who live here list the most striking quality of this community as "the genuine friendliness of the staff" … their eagerness to please. And when it comes right down to it, that's the most important aspect of any retirement community. A clean, healthy environment with great food and fun activities is always important (Credit River has all those things!) but ultimately there's nothing better than being surrounded by people willing to go out of their way to make every day the best it can be.
Featuring some uniquely wonderful spaces inside and out, this Streetsville retirement community brings Verve Senior Living's passion for excellence to this area of Mississauga. We especially love the bright lighting in the second floor fireside room, and the large outdoor courtyard, landscaped with a rock-faced gardening, backing onto the quiet side-street. Credit River Retirement Residence is situated in a calm residential area of the city, surrounded by some well-established homes with large properties. Streetsville Memorial Park is one of the nearby greenspaces here.
This is a still-very-new building (founded in 2016) whose décor and personnel create a calm, restful atmosphere where there is an abundance of space (always a mark of contemporary design, of course).

The transition for my Mom was a big worry. I wanted this to be home right from day one. The staff made it just that, answering all my 1000 emails/texts so quickly, and welcoming and having her space perfectly ready for her to move in with no problems.
It hasn’t even been a full week and they call her by her name. The food is exceptional and they always give her extra dessert.
The staff are very welcoming and patient. They never seem rushed and make you feel like you are what’s most important. The atmosphere is pleasant, comforting and welcoming, and the upkeep is impeccable. My father stayed for a short while in respite care and had a great experience.
Credit River’s team have been wonderful helping us to transition dad from his home to their Retirement home . We had many questions and concerns going in however they were handled with patience and honesty and, in the end, we felt this was the best place for our father to live a better quality of life. Their team of nurses and PSWs are kind and attentive. We know dad will be well taken care of.
To appreciate this review you have to understand that moving my loved one out of her home into an unfamiliar environment was one of the most agonizing decisions I ever had to make. Now I feel that moving her to Credit River has been one of the best decisions we made with respect to her care. It warms my heart to see her living on the memory care floor with wonderful people, just like her, who are treated with the utmost dignity and care. The staff are kind and patient, and the environment is cozy with all the elements of home - right down to the warm raisin toast and tea before bedtime.
My sister and I have high praise for Susan and all staff at Credit River Retirement Residence. They have been honest, very helpful and efficient when our mom needed to go into Assisted-Living. Mom has now been there for 7 months and feels very comfortable and safe knowing staff will help and guide her as she navigates her way through Dementia. Our mom enjoys the activities plus finds all the meals very satisfying. My sister and I know our mom is in the best of care at Credit River Retirement Residence.
My mom moved into Credit River in January. I was afraid that the transition would be difficult for her but the amazing staff at Credit River helped her transition into a flourishing daily routine. The special events the staff organize are AMAZING!!! There have been a number of occasions where my husband and I have gone to visit her and she is having such a good time she didn't even notice us!!!!! From the front door to the laundry room each and every person makes you feel welcome and appreciated. In actual fact I must say that we have such a good time visiting with my mom, that it makes me so grateful that I chose Credit River for her and feel she is finally living her best life!!!
In May 2021, I relocated my sister from another retirement facility when her day-to-day support urgently called for 24-7 care and attention. The move was executed in difficult times as Public Health rules around Covid-19 severely imposed limits and restrictions on in-person meetings, physical inspection of facilities, timelines and windows for setting up my sister in her new residence…to list just a few.
My principal contact at Credit River was Ms. Shantel Prashad who demonstrated an appreciable degree of flexibility in managing the process and a good level of cleverness when problems came up. All in all, Ms. Prashad ensured the move was seamless and less onerous on me.
Fourteen-months on, and relatively speaking, my sister has settled in. The staff in Memory Care treat her with patience and kindness and, as warranted, they communicate frequently with me on matters pertaining to my sister’s her day-to-day care and support.
It was a great pleasure from the very start with Credit River. Chantal was fantastic to take the time to hear our needs for my father and how we were dealing with my mother on a different note. She was empathetic and truly cared about us. They were very flexible on start date and the day of the move was simple and easy! My father is happy to have made the move to Credit River and I would highly recommend this retirement home for anybody looking for a clean safe place for their loved ones!
We had to find a place for my mom who has Alzheimer’s Disease. I am very protective of my mother so I had a lot of reservations. When we met with Shantel, she understood exactly what I needed and that made me feel comfortable. Once my mom moved in, all the staff at Credit River Residences made me feel very welcome in the process of getting my mom adjusted, and they are very honest and transparent with me as to what’s working and what’s not. They are open to suggestions and trying new ideas, and they do not hesitate to call me and let me know when things are good or not so good with my mom. As such, I would have no hesitation in recommending Credit River Residence to anyone.
My Mother moved into the Credit River Retirement Residence about eight months ago, and she is very happy there. We had visited other like residences in the area prior but, my Mom knew this was the place for her after the first visit. The residence is beautifully decorated, and the rooms and facilities are well maintained. The staff and residents made the move-in period very easy for her, and she now has many new friends.... We definitely made the right decision!
I needed to find a secure and caring home for my father who is suffering from dementia. I visited Credit River Residence to see one of their 'memory care' suites. I was warmly greeted and given a tour of the facilities and found that it provided all the services that my father needed for his care. Since moving my father into the Residence, he has been well looked after by the caring staff. The peace of mind knowing that my dad is in a safe, secure and caring environment was just what our family needed.
Currently my parents, my paternal aunt and my husband's paternal aunt are cared for at Credit River Retirement home. So I am familiar with assisted living, dementia care, and Independent Living programming and care. As a MSW level hospital social worker I am pretty analytical of services generally but I am comfortable recommending all three levels of care at Credit River. Food is good, programming is lively and they have a competent physician and nursing care. Kindness and compassion is evident in each interaction. Adequate staffing and no Covid 19 cases to date.
Trying to be proactive for my mother I have chosen to visit several retirement residence. Credit River was the one that took the time to take me on a full tour and experience the daily lifestyle. We were fortunate to be there when they had an afternoon of musical entertainment and also another day when they had the ‘Pie in the face’ event. Everyone was thoroughly enjoying it (including me). There was a very natural flow and casualness once you entered the building! We truly believe this will be the place once the time is right and we thank Jill S for all her attention.
Everything about Credit River Retirement Residence is 5 star plus! All the staff go above and beyond to assist with all your needs and concerns. My sister lived in a beautiful Independent Suite & then moved to a gorgeous Suite in Assisted Living during her time there. A very special thank you to Jill Somerville (you are the best) and her team (Susan, Kerra, Bobbie & Barb). Thank you for always going that extra mile for my sister & always being there to support me as well. A very special shout out to Paulo DeLa Cruz as well who was always there to assist and work with me on the very best treatment options for my sister. To the nurses, PSW'S, food server's (the food is 5 star plus as well) & cleaners, thank you for all you do!! My sister was treated like family at Credit Rivers Retirement Residence and as a regular, twice a week visitor so was I!!! I miss seeing all of you...thank you again for you incredible service and your wonderful kindness. Big Hugs to all :)
We recently moved my mother into Credit River from Montreal. The staff here has been amazing - extremely supportive and patient as we navigated through the many and ever changing restrictions and regulations in two provinces!
Everyone has been amazing at Credit River! My mother was in crisis and unable to move to LTC due to COVID-19 restrictions. Jill, Julie, Shereen and Paulo have been incredibly supportive and accommodating. My mother is now safe and well cared for.
We were looking for a place that could accommodate our parents and our aunt and Credit River Retirement has been incredible! We were first impressed with the diligence of the physical assessments prior to acceptance and then impressed by the way the team worked together to accommodate everyone with everything from move in to settling in. It's been 4 months [now, and] what has impressed me the most is the positive way team members interact with residents. I've witnessed so many instances of compassion that you would think staff were caring for their own folks ... The management team also treats residents as if they were their own parents and seem to know all the residents by name! All the staff excel at demonstrating team work and it's easy to see they have each other's back and like each other. Credit River Retirement Residence puts on some great gala events where it's "all hands on deck"! It doesn't matter if it's in the evening or on weekends - everyone is pitching in! Its an outstanding team! Four months in, we're very happy.
People here are almost like another family. They were very sympathetic when my husband passed away. It's also nice that they have assisted living and memory care in the same building, so you know that you don't have to move when you're getting less active.
I made friends right away when I moved in here. It's best to make your own mind up about moving here, then you feel best about the whole thing. I was settled the second day I was here. I have all my things, all my clothes, all I need!
We needed to find a place quickly, one that
addressed dad's need for assisted care. We were quickly relieved to know
that Credit River had all the resources required to address dad's
needs ... staff have been exceptional in helping me through this
difficult transition.
I've got everything I need ... housekeeping,
my meals, I don't want to do that anymore! There are lots of
activities going on in here. It's my home.
We all help each other here. So If
you're going out to the drug store or the shopping center, you
say something, ask if anyone needs anything. If somebody needs help, you
help them. Paul [a neighbour in the community] helped me out when I
went for my hernia. He picked me up and took me over and I didn't
even know they guy, then. I do now, though!
Staff here are very caring and attentive.
They listen and follow through on decisions [and] go out of their way to
make the move and transition as smooth as possible. They stay in
contact with the family and address all concerns going
forward.
I took a trial stay here with my mother,
having also tried out nearly a dozen other retirement homes throughout
Mississauga and Oakville. This was the one that impressed me
most.
