VRS Society's history of caring

VRS Communities Society was founded as the Vancouver Resource Society in the 1970’s, begun by a group of idealists including Monty Wood and Linda Hurst. This remains an organization focused on supporting people and giving people a place they can call home. Its seniors residences today carry forward the Society’s experience in raising the standards for affordable living in BC. As a non-profit organization, every dollar is accounted for and goes back into improving living quality for residents.

VRS Society's mission and vision

With an invested business approach, the Society stands by its commitment to provide quality housing and services and they continue to look for new ways forward to improve seniors’ lives. Service is at the heart of what they do.

It's a company with a unique mission and vision that finds expression in the communities listed above.

Their mission: "To continue providing innovative opportunities for people with disabilities and seniors to enable independence and participation in the community."

Their vision: To give individuals the choice to live in their community.
