Randy's Mom, Bunny, was nervous about moving away from the Vancouver neighbourhood she'd spent her whole life in, but at Magnolia Gardens in Langley she found a forever home.
Mom was born and raised in Vancouver and spent the majority of her entire life in Vancouver, so coming to Langley was a big change for her. Losing her partner, the uncertainty, being along, it was very worrisome and troubling for her. My wife and I, after doing our due diligence and looking into seniors’ communities, we chose Magnolia Gardens for my mother.
Upon bringing her out here, she was extremely nervous, and I must say, the entire staff, they’ve all been absolutely fabulous at making mom feel so comfortable and welcome. She didn’t know anybody; however, they were quick to introduce her to other members of the community; she has most certainly has picked up some very good and new friends.
So the transition to Magnolia Gardens has been so good for her. It’s been comfortable, she feels safe, she absolutely loves her suite, she raves about the meals. And she talks about Michael, the head chef, who not only makes her smile and gives her a good laugh on occasion but also is very accommodating of her choices and her diet.
After a couple of years of mom being out here, she wouldn’t want to be anywhere else; she’s extremely happy, she’s comfortable, she feels safer than she ever has in her entire life, according to her. And as well she has met some wonderful friends that surely will be lifelong friendships created here. And they have a ball. And she now calls it her forever home as she is so happy and feels so fortunate to be here.
