Sheridan Semester Begins With Inspiration Through Tribute to Elders
Oakville, Ont. – As part of this year's 'President's Creative Challenge', Sheridan College is calling on both the Sheridan community as well as the broader community to share stories about older adults who inspire them and why.“The theme for this year's challenge is creative aging and designing communities for all ages,” says Dr. Jeff Zabudsky, Sheridan's President. “An aging population affects every person and program at Sheridan, as well as all Canadians.”
To promote the challenge this semester, a series of kick off events have been scheduled at all four Sheridan College campuses during the month of January. Students, staff, faculty, administrators and the broader community are invited to come together to share photos and stories of older adults who inspire them.
“The kick offs are a fun way to encourage people to think about creative aging and what it means to them personally“ says Pat Spadafora, Director of the Sheridan Elder Research Centre. "If you can't make it to the events on campus, you can participate through the President's Creative Challenge Facebook page."
