PARC Retirement Living was very pleased to present sponsorship cheques recently to two Burnaby associations whose efforts and values are well aligned with PARC’s.
On Tuesday, July 21st, Mulberry PARC’s General Manager, Jerilyn Lee, was very proud to present a $12,000 cheque to the Seniors Active in Living program at Confederation Community Centre of Burnaby, BC. Then on Wednesday, July 22nd, she presented an $11,000 cheque on behalf of PARC Retirement Living to the executive and administration of Edmonds Health Watch also in Burnaby, BC.
Both programs, Edmonds Health Watch and Seniors Active in Living, are weekly wellness programs that provide seniors 55 and over with exercise programs and services like blood pressure monitoring, therapeutic touch, massage, eyeglass services and foot care. There are also health information presentations with guest speakers.
All three groups have an active interest in furthering and promoting the health and wellness of those 55 and older who are enthusiastic participants in active aging. This financial assistance provided by PARC for the programs can result in more years of independent living and a better overall state of health for those who attend.
