The world of senior living raises lots of questions. Bria Communities has developed a free took to help you navigate it.
The world of senior living is complicated. Bria Communities has developed a free digital booklet full of expert advice and guidance to help older adults and their loved ones navigate it.
"There is a lot of confusion and misconceptions surrounding housing and care options for older British Columbians," says Tanya Snow, Director of Bria Communities. "We wanted to create a resource that focused exclusively on senior living and homecare—something to help demystify the options."
The Guide is the only one of its kind in BC—bringing together information about housing solutions and care in a comprehensive and easy-to-read format. Only 18 pages long, it is packed with simple descriptions and definitions of terms, an outline of Provincial subsidies and services, as well as links and tools that help seniors and their loved ones make informed housing and care decisions.
"I don't know where to start" is a phrase Tanya, Bria's General Managers, and Residency Coordinators hear frequently. They regularly counsel seniors and their family members who are trying to understand the options. "It's one of our values to lead the way, and developing this kind of unique tool to serve seniors in our province is a great way to do that, she says. "It also feels like our professional and civic responsibility to help."
